Huawei Mate 70 series is expected to adopt a thinner and narrower design over the Mate 60 smartphones. The company will seemingly implement some simple yet useful changes rather than major ones for the upcoming flagship lineup.

Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation says that Huawei is ready to unveil the Mate 70 series in mid-November. The company is gearing up the launch preparations.

The new Mate lineup will bring four models: Standard, Pro, Pro+, and Mate 70 RS Ultimate Design. The camera framework is likely to be similar to the leaked lens cover.

Mate 70 series handsets may have the Mate 50-like camera module. Meanwhile, the RS Ultimate Design variant will have the signature lens bump.

Speaking of the design, the tipster says that the Huawei Mate 70 series will have a thinner, narrower, and more rounded look than Mate 60 models. It will ease the holding scenarios, making the grip much better as well as more comfortable.

Mate 60 phones are slightly wider than Mate 50. It offers a huge screen for better visuals. But when it comes to holding the device, the Mate 60 series appears a problem to many users. Although Huawei might solve this issue with the next lineup.

The latest leak hints that the phone maker will improve the overall device-holding experience with the Mate 70 smartphones. Apart from a slimmer and narrower design, the new handsets could also feature more rounded corners than before.

It’s November and expectations to witness the Mate 70 unveiling this month have reached at peak. During the HDC 2024 event, Huawei said that the new flagship will launch in Q4 2024 but an exact time has been awaiting for months.

Although the wait could end after the Double 11 Sale event. A few leaks say that Huawei may launch the Mate 70 series around November 20. Let’s wait for some more days to catch the official glimpse of the new devices.

Huawei Mate 70 series will not only come with new and advanced features but also improved battery life. A new leak says that the upcoming flagship will offer stronger battery performance than its predecessor, even if the cell capacity isn’t higher.

FixedFocus revealed that the Huawei Mate 70 series cell won’t exceed the 6000mAh capacity. None of the models carry a giant battery like that of the Magic 7 lineup.

Although another tipster in the comment section hints that the Huawei Mate 70 series will likely provide improved and more reliable battery life than ever before.

Some netizens even predicted that Huawei could use a 5500 or 5700mAh battery for the Mate 70 smartphones this time. A good cell capacity offers more efficient and longer-lasting power to a device, making it more durable for every scenario.

For reference, the Huawei Mate 60 series contains a 5000mAh battery, except for the standard model (4750mAh). It would be worth seeing if the company makes any changes to this configuration or uses the same capacity for the next lineup.

Huawei Mate 70 series still has time to go official and Honor is already seeing this lineup as the “strongest competitor”. One of the executives recently mentioned that Huawei’s upcoming flagship product would be the toughest rival in the market.

Zhao Ming – the CEO of Honor attended an exclusive interview after the Magic 7 series launch event. During the interrogation, a reporter asked if the company sees any biggest competitor in the fierce flagship smartphone competition. “Is it Mate 70?”

Ming replied that Huawei Mate 70 feels like the strongest rival at present. The executive said he doesn’t doubt the respective phone’s potential to rule the market.

He added that Honor is still growing and it wouldn’t be right to talk about rivals this early. The company only aims to develop better devices and the rest of the decision is in consumers’ hands.

“Huawei Mate 70 is the strongest competitor of all brands, there is no doubt about that. …we’re still growing and it is too early to talk about competitors. We must do our best and let consumers recognize our products.” – Zhao Ming.

The Honor CEO implied that the Huawei Mate 70 could be the toughest competitor in the market. The flagship series will enter the real world by next month.

Zhao mentioned that Honor has been working hard for the past few years to prove itself. Yet, it still sees certain doubts on R&D capabilities and the ability to innovate. The question “Can we develop better after being separated from Huawei” persists.

The CEO meant that Honor had to take major steps and implement new changes in terms of innovation. The company has introduced many useful solutions for its devices. For instance, the Qinghai Lake battery, Eagle Eye camera, and more.

“We relied on products and hard work. In this process, I think it is more important for Honor to be the best version of itself.” – said Zhao Ming.

Mate 70 Series

Huawei will launch four models with the Mate 70 series: Standard, Pro, Pro+, and RS Ultimate Design. The lineup will bring major upgrades and could be the first to equip a new Kirin 5nm chip as well as HarmonyOS NEXT software system.

Other changes will be visible as enhanced photography experience, faster touch responses, improved video recording, as well as an upgraded fingerprint unlock solution.

Huawei is seemingly preparing for more Kirin 8000 chip products after the MatePad 11.5 2024 release. A leak says the company may launch more devices, running on the Kirin 8000 processor this year. The products could be new phones and tablets.

FixedFocus revealed that Huawei still has many Kirin 8000 products in the pipeline. The processor could be used in new MatePad tablets and the upcoming Enjoy series. The company will probably unveil these devices by the end of this year.

On October 30, Huawei quietly unveiled the MatePad 11.5 2024 tablet. The company didn’t reveal the chipset info. However, an early leak suggested that the device uses Kirin 8000. It seems the OEM is planning more new products with the same chip.

The leak doesn’t specify any release time for these products. Yet, Huawei will likely unveil a new tablet and another Enjoy series before wrapping up this year.

Huawei hasn’t confirmed the news yet. Hence, let’s take this input with a grain of salt and wait for the official statements on this matter.

Kirin 8000 debuted with the Nova 12 Pro handset in December last year. It is an octa-core chipset that is inferior to Kirin 9000SL but promises better performance than the previous-generation Kirin 8 processors, for the mid-range lineup.

The chipset contains a 4+3+1 CPU architecture. It has four 1.84GHz small cores, three 2.19GHz medium cores, and one 2.40GHz large core. The chip is paired with Maleoon 910 GPU and has been installed on Nova 13 series, Nova Flip, and Nova 12 Pro.

Huawei is currently focusing on the Mate 70 series. The flagship lineup will likely launch next month with several new features as well as a powerful Kirin chip.

The device will further carry upgraded imaging features, improved and faster touch responses, and new satellite capabilities to enhance the user experience.

Huawei is rolling out the HarmonyOS 4.2 software update for the MatePad 11 2023 tablet global users. The new firmware contains various useful changes and interesting features. These additions to the device will ease the day-to-day operations.

It seems Huawei has started speeding up HarmonyOS 4.2 rollout in the global market. The company recently served this software treatment to the MatePad Air. Now it is bringing new features and enhancements for another efficient tablet.

Global Huawei MatePad 11 2023 users can identify the HarmonyOS 4.2 update with the 4.2.0.210 version. Ensure to have sufficient storage in your device as the firmware weighs 5.55GB. We also suggest a stable Wi-Fi connection for installation.

The changelog unlocks new magazine themes that allow you to choose a portrait picture and match it with the wallpaper. Users can also keep an eye on the app’s activity via the Live View feature. SuperHub 2.0 makes file-sharing much easier.

On the other hand, Ark Engine ensures smoother animations, preventing lags on the tablet. You can check all the features and enhancements below.

Huawei is leading the Chinese wearable market in Q3 2024, beating many of its rivals like Apple. The company has ranked first with a huge shipment of smartwatches in the market. It also holds the highest market share compared to others.

A new report by RUNTO Technology reveals the growth of the Chinese wearable market in Q3 2024. It listed the top five rankers and their progress in this report.

The tech giant sold around 2.083 million units in the first three quarters of this year. The figure has ultimately increased the company’s year-on-year sales revenue by 23.5% and made it sit at the top of the Chinese smartwatch market.

Huawei has unveiled dynamic wearables this year alongside new color variants. Watch GT 5 series is the latest example and comes with the all-new TruSense system.

It is also the first to feature the HarmonyOS 5.0 software and smarter functionalities than its predecessors. These points helped the respective wearable models to grab consumers’ attention and support in the Chinese smartwatch market.
