Huawei is seemingly preparing for more Kirin 8000 chip products after the MatePad 11.5 2024 release. A leak says the company may launch more devices, running on the Kirin 8000 processor this year. The products could be new phones and tablets.

FixedFocus revealed that Huawei still has many Kirin 8000 products in the pipeline. The processor could be used in new MatePad tablets and the upcoming Enjoy series. The company will probably unveil these devices by the end of this year.

On October 30, Huawei quietly unveiled the MatePad 11.5 2024 tablet. The company didn’t reveal the chipset info. However, an early leak suggested that the device uses Kirin 8000. It seems the OEM is planning more new products with the same chip.

The leak doesn’t specify any release time for these products. Yet, Huawei will likely unveil a new tablet and another Enjoy series before wrapping up this year.

Huawei hasn’t confirmed the news yet. Hence, let’s take this input with a grain of salt and wait for the official statements on this matter.

Kirin 8000 debuted with the Nova 12 Pro handset in December last year. It is an octa-core chipset that is inferior to Kirin 9000SL but promises better performance than the previous-generation Kirin 8 processors, for the mid-range lineup.

The chipset contains a 4+3+1 CPU architecture. It has four 1.84GHz small cores, three 2.19GHz medium cores, and one 2.40GHz large core. The chip is paired with Maleoon 910 GPU and has been installed on Nova 13 series, Nova Flip, and Nova 12 Pro.

Huawei is currently focusing on the Mate 70 series. The flagship lineup will likely launch next month with several new features as well as a powerful Kirin chip.

The device will further carry upgraded imaging features, improved and faster touch responses, and new satellite capabilities to enhance the user experience.

Huawei is rolling out the HarmonyOS 4.2 software update for the MatePad 11 2023 tablet global users. The new firmware contains various useful changes and interesting features. These additions to the device will ease the day-to-day operations.

It seems Huawei has started speeding up HarmonyOS 4.2 rollout in the global market. The company recently served this software treatment to the MatePad Air. Now it is bringing new features and enhancements for another efficient tablet.

Global Huawei MatePad 11 2023 users can identify the HarmonyOS 4.2 update with the 4.2.0.210 version. Ensure to have sufficient storage in your device as the firmware weighs 5.55GB. We also suggest a stable Wi-Fi connection for installation.

The changelog unlocks new magazine themes that allow you to choose a portrait picture and match it with the wallpaper. Users can also keep an eye on the app’s activity via the Live View feature. SuperHub 2.0 makes file-sharing much easier.

On the other hand, Ark Engine ensures smoother animations, preventing lags on the tablet. You can check all the features and enhancements below.

Magazine Themes

  • The Art Star theme lets you choose a portrait photo you like and a wallpaper to match.

Live View

  • Keeps you up to date on the status of important events by displaying timely notifications on the lock screen, home screen, and more.
  • Users will also see a notification window pinned to the top left of the home screen.

SuperHub

  • Supports dragging and dropping content between apps and devices. You can tap and hold defined text and images, then drag and drop them to SuperHub to store them temporarily or send them in bulk.

Ark Engine

  • Provides a smoother user experience with the upgraded Ark Engine.

HarmonyOS 4.2 is still missing for flagship tablets like MatePad Pro 13.2, MatePad Pro 11, and more. Although the company could soon expand the reach of the new upgrade to eligible devices in the global market.

Huawei has added 8 more devices to the OpenHarmony 5.0 compatibility list. These models have participated in the HarmonyOS NEXT closed and public beta programs. Perhaps the company wants them to be compatible with the latest OS version.

A few weeks back Huawei added four models to the OpenHarmony 5.0 list. These were Mate 60, Mate 60 Pro, Mate X5, and MatePad Pro 13.2. Now the tech giant has added 8 more Huawei devices to the OpenHarmony 5.0 compatibility section.

Pura 70 series, Pocket 2, and more models have passed the OpenHarmony 5.0 compatibility test. This qualification implies that these models will run effectively with HarmonyOS NEXT without resulting in performance or stability issues.

You can check the complete device list below.
  • Pura 70
  • Pura 70 Satellite SMS Edition
  • Pura 70 Pro
  • Pura 70 Ultra
  • Pocket 2
  • MatePad Pro 11 2024
  • Nova 12 Ultra
  • Nova 12 Ultra Star Edition

The 5.0 is the latest release version of the OpenHarmony operating system. It contains new features for ArkUI, useful changes for file management, app framework, graphics, images, and Windows. It also accompanies some fixes for the Web module.

OpenHarmony is the foundation for native apps in HarmonyOS NEXT. The company’s self-developed OS uses a custom unified system built on OpenHarmony.

Hence, it is important to check if a Huawei smartphone or tablet is compatible with OpenHarmony to run smoothly on the HarmonyOS NEXT stable versions.

Such compatibility tests also verify if a device can remain stable and work efficiently with multiple app interfaces, heavy tasks, and other complex scenarios.

OpenHarmony compatibility points out that the device is a perfect product for HarmonyOS. The company currently has 12 OpenHarmony-supported models. It may soon add more devices to the list as the HarmonyOS NEXT beta program proceeds.

Huawei has launched the HarmonyOS NEXT closed beta program for the Nova 12 Ultra models. The activity is open only for the top-end models. It will reach the other variants of the respective lineup by the first quarter of the next year.

According to the details, Huawei Nova 12 Ultra and Star Edition handsets are eligible for the HarmonyOS NEXT closed beta program. The corresponding device owners need to sign up for this program to explore new features ahead of the stable release.

If you have the Huawei Nova 12 Ultra of its Star Edition then ensure the baseline version 4.2.0.162. Users can take the help of the My Huawei app to register for the beta activity. Open the app > Me > Upgrade and Try > follow the on-screen steps.

Apply and wait for the “review successful” notification. If your registration status shows “Passed”, you will receive the new beta version within 3-5 days. If failed, users need to wait for the upcoming update rollouts or beta programs.

HarmonyOS NEXT closed beta update will be an early testing version. We suggest taking a backup of your device beforehand to avoid data deletion. Also, keep 10GB of free storage space in your device to install the update without any interruption.

Also, the new software system could be incompatible with certain apps due to which, you may encounter abnormal functioning, freezing, lagging, and other issues. Hence, proceed with the beta update at your own risk.

Huawei may introduce a new MatePad 11.5 2024 tablet by October 30 for its consumers. The company unveiled many tablets in the past few months. It seems the OEM will add a few more products to the MatePad gallery by the end of this year.

Weibo tipster @UncleKanshan says that Huawei will directly launch a new MatePad 11.5 2024 tablet on October 30. The term directly hints that there won’t be any release event, unlike other products. The device will directly be on the sale shelf.

The company unveiled the MatePad 11.5-inch S tablet in May this year. Now it is seemingly planning to bring an upgraded 11.5-inch tablet with useful capabilities.

Apart from UncleKanshan, another tipster shared some key specs and main changes to the new tablet. The leak hints that the MatePad 11.5 2024 will have the same design as its predecessor. But Huawei will upgrade its chip and other internal specs.

For instance, the company may use the Kirin 8000 processor for the alleged tablet. The sound feature powered by Huawei Histen could be upgraded from level 8 to 9 (Histen 9). Next, a 40W charger with 30W charging power may accompany the tablet.

Speaking of the price, it will likely be similar to the previous-gen model. As per the tipster’s leak, there won’t be any 4G LTE full network variant this time.

Note that if your device is running on the HarmonyOS NEXT closed beta build, then don’t have to re-register in the activity. The company will push the new version automatically in batches. If not received immediately, wait patiently.

Users who are new to this activity can take the help of the My Huawei app to sign up for the beta program. Follow these instructions to register for the activity:

  • Open the My Huawei App
  • Tap on Home
  • Select “Upgrade and Try”
  • Click on the Public Beta project
  • Follow the on-screen instructions

Once done, the company will review the applications and start pushing the new HarmonyOS NEXT public beta update. You can keep an eye on the Settings app > System & Updates > Software Updates to carry out a manual installation.

Points to Note

Being a beta build, users might discover some issues after the new update installation. For instance, abnormal functioning of some apps, freezing, overheating, battery draining, and more. Don’t worry as this is a normal process and may resolve with the upcoming software versions.

We also suggest taking a complete backup of your device beforehand to avoid any kind of data loss. You can use the newly launched cloud backup service.
