Huawei Mate 70 series is running on the rumors rampage these days for offering a boastful performance to consumers. Meanwhile, a tipster says that the flagship smartphone lineup could be near to the excellence of the old Mate 40 models.

According to @BeijingDigitalMaster, the Huawei Mate 70 series won’t be able to match the superiority of the premium Mate 40 devices, yet the overall performance will be close enough. Thus, the new models could deliver better functioning.

The tipster also shows an estimation, implying that the Mate 70 series would be supreme to the Mate 60. However, it could be slightly inferior to the Mate 40 models.

So far, the Chinese tech giant has always shown its Mate products as the most powerful devices in the smartphone line. Among several units, the Huawei Mate 40 and its variants still count as one of the best flagship handsets in the market.

Even though Huawei made a powerful comeback with the rebirth of the Kirin 5G chips and Mate 60 Pro, the Mate 40 lineup still holds a special space in consumers’ hearts.

There is still a lot of time for the Huawei Mate 70 series launch and hence it would not be appropriate to comment on this issue right now. Moreover, the new lineup is likely to possess advanced capabilities that may later change the current perspective.

Previous Reports:

Huawei Mate 70 series is hearsay to use a new 5G+ network technology with better connectivity experience. Another interesting addition to this lineup could be the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which is currently under development.

Compared to other fingerprint scanners, the ultrasonic components ensure a clear and accurate scanning of your fingers even when they are dirty or wet.

Last but not least, Huawei may sport strong AI and NearLink facilities with the Mate 70 smartphones. Although the company hasn’t confirmed these rumors, there is a high chance to find these technologies with the approaching flagship phones.

More Huawei Mate 40 Pro users in the global market now getting upgraded over EMUI 13 software. The phone maker started this rollout in late September. Since then, it kept on expanding EMUI 13 for more Mate 40 Pro models.

The current stage of the rollout is more in the European markets. Thus it carries build version 13.0.0.246 and weighs over 6GB in download size. It would be better if you grab it over a WiFi network.

EMUI 13 comes with a load of new features and improvements for a better user experience. The new software has service widgets, which show the app’s information on the home screen without opening the app first.

Also, the app swipe-up gesture is an innovative functionality that allows you to access key app features with just a swipe-up gesture on the app icon. The Super Device smart connection manager is coming for global Huawei smartphone owners with EMUI 13.

You will experience new changes in animations and efficiency in task handling. Therefore, we suggest you install this new update as soon as it arrives.

This new update for Huawei Mate 40 Pro is available to download manually via the following settings:

  • Open Settings menu
  • From here tap on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Select CHECK FOR UPDATES

If available the update will start auto download but you can press the DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL to fetch this new software onboard.

Thanks to the tipster – Sergej for this amazing input.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro EMUI 13 expanding EMUI 13.0.0.246

Important Notes:

Since it’s a major package, the installation may take about 5-10 minutes. Once installed the phone will restart and settle the app for first-time use. However, you should let the phone complete its initial background process, which may consume below 2 minutes.

Keep your phone fully charged before downloading the new software update. Although the upgrade won’t delete your personal data, it would be an extra step of precaution for you to back up important files.

Huawei still expanding EMUI 13 in different markets, so keep on checking for a new software update on your Huawei Mate 40 Pro if doesn’t come early.

July 22, 2023, Nokia announced a new feature phone, Nokia 125 (2023) in China, and its rear case of this phone resembles the camera module of the Huawei Mate 40.

There’s a huge difference between the category of these two devices but the resembles cannot be ignored in this matter. To define, the Nokia 125 (2023) has a plastic case with a circular speaker arrangement with lots of holes to trespass the sound. In the middle, there’s a big LED light. Also, the phone doesn’t have a camera.

All things aside, Huawei Mate 40 is the closest companion to Nokia 125 rear design’s inspiration. But it’s just the way to see it, and there’s nothing otherwise.

Coming to the speaker, it delivers 9 levels of loud volume. In that case, the feature phone will give a sound music playback. Also, also seems bigger than a smartphone to provide more light to the user.

Huawei is finally giving the vibes of global flagship launch season after two years of any flagship intro for overseas customers. This is amusing for all of the people who want to test the newest premium Huawei smartphone with powerful camera capabilities.

A few days ago, Huawei confirmed Huawei P60 series launch event for May 9th and shared a promo for the Huawei P60 series. The devices that are pre-heating under this new campaign include smartphones, wearables, and tablets.

Specifically, the new camera powerful Huawei P60 Pro, ultra-lightweight Huawei Mate X3, Huawei Watch Ultimate, FreeBuds 5, and more. The tech maker has already introduced these in some of the countries but a wide unveiling will happen on the stage.

Promoting all over:

Huawei is promoting this event for all regions including Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. That’s not it, the company is also sharing some interesting material online including the photographic capability of the P60 Pro. These are creating pretty positive effects among consumers.

Not only Huawei P60 but Huawei is creating hype for all of its products – Huawei Watch Ultimate and Mate X3 and the next one could the FreeBuds 5. Check them linked below.

The past:

It was in 2020 when Huawei introduced both P40 and Mate 40 series with such celebration. These two are the last flagship with 5G capabilities. At that time, Huawei ensured that these phones stand out among the fittest and delivered up to the mark.

GMS:

For those who are still confused on this matter, the upcoming Huawei smartphones won’t support Google Mobile Services (GMS) instead they will solely operate with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and AppGallery.

The future:

With all of these latest developments, we can say that Huawei is bringing back the vibes of the flagship launch events for global customers, which it was forced to give up two years ago.

Huawei is rolling out a new software update for the global models of Huawei Mate 40 Pro it includes April 2023 security improvements amid testing EMUI 13 on some recent flagship models.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro is also eligible to grab a major installation in the global market and the build version may vary depending on the country. However, the ones we found are EMUI 12.0.0.318 and EMUI 12.0.0.322. Also, the upgrade size is relatively low, so you won’t have to think twice before downloading the OTA update.

However, users of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro are still looking toward a major software upgrade on EMUI 13 but the company has not released any official rollout roadmap.

Still, this new rollout comes as much-needed improvements for the smartphone, as our eyes await a major upgrade for the flagship smartphone. You should know that there aren’t any additional changes spotted in the changelog. However, the April 2023 security patch is all that you should be looking for.

To download April 2023 EMUI security update for Huawei Mate 40 Pro, head towards Settings > then tap on System & Updates. Thereafter, you can follow the on-screen instructions to check for the latest firmware version.

You can check our EMUI 13 updates section to know more about this next-gen EMUI upgrade.

Thanks to all of the tipster, who sent us these inputs.

Other than Turbo charge mode, the Huawei Mate 40 series is receiving improvements for display, and app optimizations for the App Twin feature and it installs December 2022 HarmonyOS security patches.

These are major improvements and features, but Huawei Mate 40 (standard version) is not eligible to get Turbo charge mode. However, the other optimizations and improvements for Mate 40 are the same as the Pro version.

Global:

Huawei Mate 40 series global models are currently running EMUI 12 software. For the time being, it’s not confirmed whether this will rollout for global smartphones.

There are a few things that you should know before you upgrade to the latest version. Make sure that the phone does not have ROOT. You can upgrade to version 3.0.0.192 online after receiving the OTA package.

This software is rolling in batches. In order to check the latest firmware, you need to visit Settings > System and Updates > Software Updates > Check for Updates to upgrade.

This software update will not delete user data but it is still recommended that you back up all important data to your PC or cloud (please do not back up to the internal storage space of your phone) before upgrading. Do confirm backup data before proceeding to installation.

After the upgrade, the software will perform self-optimization and adaptation, which may cause the phone to sometimes experience heat generation, fast power consumption, freezing or slow charging.

The phone will return to regular after 2-3 days of normal use. It is recommended to charge the phone with the screen off for more than 2 hours after the upgrade is complete (it is best to charge it overnight with the screen off), and then restart the phone to ensure that the mobile phone application is quickly adapted.
