Turbo Charging came into existence in 2022. Huawei introduced it as a useful feature to give a quick charge to flagship phones. After some time, the company brought the significant tool for selected global handsets with the EMUI 13 upgrade.

Over time, Huawei has upgraded this feature with new improvements as well as better enhancements. With HarmonyOS 4.2, the company has rolled out the Turbo Charging feature to many old models like Mate 40 Pro, Nova 8/7 series, and more.

As the name suggests, Turbo Charging is a fast, safe, and efficient feature to charge Huawei devices in no time. Unlike the traditional charging capability, users don’t have to wait for hours to get their phone’s battery to reach at least 50 or 60% level.

Don’t worry as this feature won’t require any additional charger or cable. But users should have the original SuperCharge adapter and data cable that has come with the device. Now let’s learn how to access this effective feature.

How to enable HarmonyOS 4.2 Turbo Charging?

There are two ways to turn on the Turbo Charging mode. The first one is to touch and hold the center of the charging animation. (A small glowing animation appears as soon as you plug in your Huawei phone to a power adapter).

Holding the animation for a few seconds will display ‘Turbo Charge’ mode at the top of the screen. Touch and hold down on the center of the screen, until your phone vibrates and Turbo Charging displays on the phone’s screen.

Another way is, after plugging in the smartphone to a charger, enter the notification panel and tap the “Turbo Charge” in the turbo charge message box.

It is worth mentioning that you should grant permission for Optimizer to use this feature. Also, the Turbo Charging feature could overheat your device at a point. Don’t stress as this is a normal feature and doesn’t harm or affect your handset.

Turbo Charge:

Once plugged in with a charging cable, Huawei smartphone users can enable this feature manually with tap and holding on the charging animations. Keep the tap until the phone pumps up Turbo Charge animations. This new capability helps the phone to embrace a new charging algorithm and provide a better charging experience.

Spatial Audio:

This feature was first announced with Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 earbuds but didn’t roll out for all of the past generation of devices. However, EMUI 13 beta fills in the distance and allows you to access Spatial Audio settings for the FreeBuds Pro 2.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 is equipped with a six-axis gyro sensor and supports dynamic tracking of head movements, reshapes the position of the sound field in real-time, and creates a 360-degree high-definition spatial audio surround listening experience.

More of the upcoming earbuds also has this feature and it’s good to add Spatial Audio for the Huawei smartphones.

The Turbo charging and Spatial Audio are currently available for EMUI 13 beta testers but the company will soon seed them for a wide range of users with the stable release.

Additionally, an EMUI 13 beta tester also gave us his review of the entire software. He said the animations on the software feel fluid and the new features are really good. After running all around the EMUI 13 beta, the user not found any issues in the system.

100W turbo-charging – how does it work?

The Huawei 100W turbo-charging experience is worth praising. When I tried this technique for the first time, the results were surprising.

Ultimately, when you enable the turbocharging feature, it begins adapting the battery’s abilities. After plugging in the charger, the power suddenly jumps to 87W. After 3 minutes of super-fast charging, the power drops to 57W.

At this range, it continues to charge the device and slowly falls to 30W. Thereafter, it begins the background charging for 2-3 minutes with 26W power. Within or less than 10 minutes, the high-tech charging power up your device completely.

100W Turbo-Charging – good or bad?

Every technology has pros and cons. And so it follows on the charging as well. The turbo-charging may get affected by environmental factors. For instance, the temperature of your room, humidity, and more.

However, when we tried the turbo-charging effect under the ambient temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, the result was quite interesting.

• At 18.50 – 53% of charging
• At 18:53 – reaches 67%
• At 19:00 – 89% of the charging
• At 19:03 – 100% battery

Consequently, we can say that it takes 18-23 minutes to charge the device from 0 to 100 percent.

Notably, the battery capacity of Nova 10 Pro is only 4500mAh. In that aspect, turbo-charging operates in a very good manner. Moreover, it gradually increases and decreases the power level, so that your device may not get affected.

So far, Huawei has brought this technology with Nova 9 Pro smartphone. And now it’s playing wonders for users. With a 100W fast charger that offers turbo-charging, the device is good to go in your hands.

Any new charging technology is coming?
