Huawei Wallet HarmonyOS NEXT app is seemingly ready with a simpler UI and more useful features. The new application is probably available on the HarmonyOS NEXT AppGallery and eligible device users can check it and explore the latest additions.

The tech giant started the native HarmonyOS app chain last year. Till now, the HarmonyOS NEXT application count surpassed 15000 and more apps will join this ecosystem. One of these is Huawei Wallet which promises a better experience.

Inputs reveal that the Huawei Wallet HarmonyOS NEXT app brings several new features and capabilities. Starting with the interface, the app now has a newer and simpler UI than before. It offers easy-to-understand visuals for an efficient experience.

Users can easily understand the app and manage their numerous cards, coupons, tickets, and certificates, without being confused between new or older sections.

The top section appears as a visual cardholder. It holds your payment card, transportation card, car key, and access card. One can manage and change the card position as per their preference. The below section shows two tabs: Home and Me.

No need to log in to old or other devices to manage your local account cards. Just ensure that you are using the same Huawei ID and manage all your cards more conveniently. The app also allows you to add cards to wearables without collaborating with any other app. Thus, you can experience the wallet on multiple devices.

Huawei Wallet HarmonyOS NEXT features

The company has also improved the existing features of the app:
  • Double-tap on the power button: Click the power button twice to make quicker payments. This gesture will lead you directly to the payment PIN (code) for the transaction, without going through many steps.
  • Touch and Pay: Place your device close to the POS machine and make payments.
  • Transportation Card: You can use the app for transportation cards. While using a bus or subway, just keep your device close to the gate for identity authorization.
  • Access Card: One can add unlimited access cards to Huawei Wallet. This eliminates the need for a physical card to open your house’s door.
  • One-tap car control: Huawei Wallet brings you the car key feature for an easier car experience. It supports AITO, STELATO, Luxeed, BYD, Denza, Leopard, and Yangwang auto. One can unlock the car by tapping on the car’s body. It also supports remote car control and car search

Most of these features were already present in the app. Although these are now faster, smoother, and more convenient than before.

Samsung is seemingly adopting some incredible UI changes for One UI 7.0 including the widgets and icons. A few inputs have revealed that the firm is busy improving the user interface segments for its devices with the next One UI software upgrade.

X tipster @UniverseIce recently noticed the creativity level of One UI 7.0 in one of its early builds. He says that the software is still in development. But new testing builds hint at positive improvements regarding the User Interface and stability.

The tipster further reveals that One UI 7.0 will bring redesigned widgets and many icons. For instance, the Samsung Gallery app will get a new app icon again.

Not only applications but the upcoming software update may also change the in-content tool and feature icons of the Gallery app. Apart from the Samsung Gallery, users could discover more new innovative app icons with the One UI 7.0 beta.

Speaking of the widgets, the tipster mentioned that One UI 7 will likely bring some incomparably rich widgets. These might deliver smarter tools and capabilities over the rival operating systems. But the details aren’t clear for the time being.

A report by ETNews also claims that Samsung is working on the stability and completeness of the One UI 7.0 user interface. The company continues to perform new internal tests that can improve the new software’s UI to a greater extent.

Samsung is putting efforts to make its upcoming One UI upgrade the best for its device users. This is probably a reason why the company is taking time to roll out the first beta update. How far the tech giant will extend this wait would be worth seeing.

Huawei and Samsung are great tech vendors in the smartphone industry but when it comes to UI smoothness, the former is two steps ahead. In the race for a unique, personalized, and easy user interface, Huawei is leading while Samsung is lagging.

Samsung has been ruling the Android world with its high-profile Galaxy S series for years. Even though the company didn’t make dynamic shifts in the design, it kept upgrading the device with powerful Qualcomm and its self-developed Exynos chips.

The South Korean firm used AI features as another weapon to maintain its position in the global smartphone market. Galaxy S24 series is the latest example of smart AI features. It’s something that Huawei lacks in its overseas smartphone units.

But one thing where Samsung lags far behind Huawei is software and UI smoothness. While the former is still struggling to make its One UI more efficient and fluent, the latter seems to have mastered the field. How so? Let’s find it out in detail.

Samsung has been trying to improve its UI animations for the past three years. The company was said to enhance its software smoothness with One UI 5.0 (Android 13).

Test: HarmonyOS 3.0 vs One UI 5.0

Although Huawei pushed off the company in this race with HarmonyOS 3.0. The software dynamically responded to swipe-up gestures and other animation scenarios over One UI 5.0 during a test. It even surpassed the iOS 16 operating system.

On the other hand, One UI 5.0 gave sluggish UI outcomes with slow and non-fluent animations. Even though the company tried to improve this problem with One UI 6 and other versions, it persisted even on flagship phones like the Galaxy S series.

Samsung is still lacking smoothness in phone UI but Huawei no longer

Comparison of HarmonyOS 3.0, One UI 5.0, and iOS 16 UI (Image Credits: Ice Universe/X)

Animation Issues with Flagship Devices:

Users of Galaxy S23 handsets reported last year that they continue to face jittery animations on several third-party apps. The UI isn’t smooth enough and often lags while performing quick gestures or other important operations on the device.

“…All I’m seeing is micro stutters all over. Even YouTube is doing it for me now, so not only 3rd party apps. I came from an iPhone 11 Pro Max, due to 60Hz it definitely wasn’t as smooth. But it was ‘smoother’ since there were no weird lag issues like S23.” – said a Reddit user.

The problem continues…

A reliable tipster @UniverseIce recently said that Samsung is the only brand unable to achieve trouble-free system animations. While scrolling or swiping on One UI 6, the animation either cuts off in the middle or the app icons suddenly disappear.

Many users facing similar issues agreed with the tipster’s point. Despite AI features and sky-touching priced phones, Samsung disappointed users with UI smoothness. The problem might not have affected every Samsung phone user, yet it is there.

Huawei EMUI software and UI

Huawei, on the flip side, is making huge leaps in UI customizations and smoother animations. Whether we talk about EMUI 14 or HarmonyOS 4.2 the company has made its software much more fluent than any other OS in the current scenario.

A huge credit goes to Huawei’s self-developed Ark Engine. The tech giant has used a beneficial component that significantly reduces lagging and enhances smoothness. Compared to One UI, the latest EMUI 14.2 build offers faster image loading, smoother motions, and quicker app launches in Huawei smartphones.

Regardless of numerous apps running in the background, the software responds to the user’s operation in no time, without ruining the visual experience.

HarmonyOS NEXT vs One UI 7

Huawei is now focusing on HarmonyOS NEXT. The stable version is yet to be released. But ahead of that, many tipsters exploring the testing builds said that HarmonyOS NEXT is far smoother than other OS like One UI, iOS, and more.

Samsung is also working on improving the animation part with One UI 7. But whether it will be able to resolve the previous issues completely is still a question.

Not only the software, but Huawei is bringing smoothness to the next level with HarmonyOS native apps. Compared to other Android apps, these applications will be 20-30% smoother. Thus, Huawei seems ready to raise the competition for Samsung in UI smoothness.

Watch Fit 3 global units have already claimed two useful firmware last month. There was no difference between the two updates, except for the version. Yet these add-ons were said to fix anonymous bugs or glitches in the device’s system.

Now Huawei is releasing a new update for Watch Fit 3 in the global market with UI enhancements. A major change in this update is tweaks to the search experience.

The update has optimized the search section on the newly launched wrist gadget. Now users can efficiently look after existing features or tools without buffering.

Other changes include a refined appearance of user interfaces during a few tasks as well as improved system stability. The Watch Fit 3 update is tagged with the HarmonyOS 4.2.0.153 version and a software package of 50.84MB.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 may not only carry a distinct outlook but also some major UI changes. It seems the Chinese tech giant plans an entirely new makeover for its upcoming wearable, both internally and externally. Let’s learn more about this matter.

Tipster @FixedFocus says that the Huawei Watch Fit 3 will arrive after the spring festival this year. It will carry a 2.5D screen panel with immersive visual effects.

Further details reveal that the approaching wearable will adopt a flagship-level crown on the left side and a brand-new system interaction. The former element has already appeared in many renders, where the device seemed a replicate of the Apple Watch.

Also, Read:

Though the highlight of the Huawei Watch Fit 3 could be major UI changes based on the latest HarmonyOS version for wearables. Perhaps, the next FIT smartwatch might pre-install the ongoing HarmonyOS 4.2 software or maybe the HarmonyOS NEXT.

Overall leak hints that the Chinese tech giant might unveil the Watch Fit 3 wrist gadget at the HDC 2024 event. If true, there is a high chance that the device will come with the most-awaited software product – HarmonyOS NEXT out of the box.

The list of UI changes could include smoother animations, more space for app icons, enlarged fonts, new watch faces, and so on. Yet, official words still await on this matter.

Huawei is speeding up the Watch Fit 3 development. The firm probably plans to launch the respective wearable in both native and global regions. But details like key specs, price, and internal features are missing from the frame at the moment.

HarmonyOS 4.0 is under testing for developers and Huawei wants to make some major UI overhauls to the HarmonyOS, in that case, one specific change has now caught our eye.

The latest details are coming from the corner of Huawei Mobile Business CTO, Bruce Lee. Yesterday, he shared a screenshot of the user interface of a mobile app and it shows a drastic difference in the status bar layout.

HarmonyOS 4.0 major ui change

There is a clear gap between this new layout and HarmonyOS 3.1, which is the latest HarmonyOS version. Specifically, the new structure follows a three-stage layout including:

  • Time and app notifications
  • Alarm clock and NFC
  • Network and power

In terms of placement, the clock is placed on the very left alongside app notification icons. The NFC and alarm clock icons are in the middle. The rest of the icons for wearables, sound mode, internet speed, SIM card battery, and charging are on the right.

Compared to this, HarmonyOS 3.1 and its predecessors only follow two side layouts. The operator name, clock, Bluetooth, alarm, and NFC are on the left and the rest of the icons are on the right.

HarmonyOS 4.0 major ui change

Other details:

Some tiny bit of details shows that the clock text on the left and the icons on the right are clear in HarmonyOS 4.0. Although, the Huawei official didn’t confirm the operating system version but the new additions are quite obvious and it’s reflected in the UI of the HarmonyOS.

Strict Rules:

Compared to other developer programs, Huawei wants to keep the new changes private. Therefore, Huawei has signed a nondisclosure agreement (digital) with all of the people participating in the developer beta program.

However, there are some people ready to expel some things without revealing too much of the info about the UI. This is why we have not included images of the latest improvements in the previous article.

Yet, this new major change in the status bar UI is something that would make a positive impact on the HarmonyOS 4.0 user experience. Check our HarmonyOS 4.0 section for more details about the latest rollouts.

Huawei has started to rollout EMUI 12 software updates for eligible devices and the company is bringing a number of new features for the consumers. However, any major update has at least some changes in the user interface. Therefore, the company is bringing a new Minimalist design in the EMUI 12 update that you’ll love to see.

In terms of the user interface, EMUI 12 Minimalist user interface design could be taken as a major upgrade compared to the EMUI 11. If we compare further, the software interface is directly inspired and looks identical to HarmonyOS operating system that is currently limited for Chinese consumers.

Aside from these, we’re here to explore more about EMUI 12 Minimalist design algorithm that Huawei has brought in.

EMUI 12 minimalist user interface

Minimalist Design:

The first thing to mention – depth sense in the user interface that brings a new kind of feel in the entire UI that the user looks and feels during the interaction.

These changes reflect directly on the user interface that looks realistic and provides a subtle 3D effect of the onscreen content.

The colors have also been revamped through these changes and boast a refined look that is clean and increases visibility for your eyes. Meanwhile, the perfect use of black and white colors is thematics is perfect.

Huawei HarmonyOS 2 presents one of the best user interface designs in the mobile operating system industry. This new mobile software doesn’t only come with new animation effects but new UI elements.

Following a comparison with EMUI 11, Oxygen OS 11 is the next focus of our Settings menu comparison. It’s time that we dive into a head-to-head battle between these two softwares.

For the HarmonyOS 2 vs Oxygen OS 11 comparison, we’ll explore the Settings menu as well as the user experience.

Oxygen OS 11:

Compared to HarmonyOS 2, Oxygen OS 11 carries Red enthusiasm throughout the user interface that looks good but not too perfect. The Settings operations are fast but they lack smoothness.

harmonyos 2 vs Oxygen os 11

Also, the UI settings elements have Red-colored icons with outlined architecture. The menu items also have details of a specific menu option along with their corresponding interaction scheme.

The UI effects and transition from one menu to another are very subtle and it’s really good.

HarmonyOS 2:

In comparison to Oxygen OS 11, the HarmonyOS software has a very elegant Settings menu, which enables elegant design and section-based menu options approach towards you.

The section-based Settings items provide a categorical view of the UI elements and showcase insights on the features. You can select the features as well as options to strive and move forward with.

The scrolling animation is intriguing to the eye and reflects on the users’ fingertip. We definitely have to mention the icon design and the colorful behavior that catches your attention, allows them to choose the option in a correct way.

The ease of visibility further extends with the new HarmonyOS fonts that increase the overall viewing experience of the HarmonyOS 2 Settings menu. You can see the demo linked below.
