Huawei Nova 12 Pro may only be available at online shopping stores after the Nova 13 series launch. The company could remove the previous-gen handsets to promote the upcoming high-end lineup and increase sales in the smartphone market.

UncleKanshan notes that the Huawei Nova 13 series launch may affect its predecessors to some extent. The Nova 12 Ultra and Lite models could continue to sell in online and offline stores. However, that won’t be the case with the Pro variants.

The tipster says that Huawei will likely remove the Nova 12 Pro from offline shelves and make it available only in online stores. It won’t be discontinued completely but will be present partially in the Chinese smartphone market.

Consumers would still be able to purchase the respective model, but only from the VMall and other online shopping channels. Any such news for the standard Nova 12 is currently missing. We may get accurate details after the Nova 13 series launch.

Huawei often removes its previous-gen devices from the shopping stores for the new ones. The company adopted the same strategy during the Pura 70 launch. It removed the P60 series from the VMall just a few weeks after the Pura 70 release.

Earlier it seemed a software glitch. But the situation is still the same. P60 and Nova 12 series are demanding handsets in the market. Thus, Huawei might opt for this strategy to catch the consumers’ attention over new products than previous ones.

Huawei will unveil Nova 13 series smartphones on October 22. The devices are already open for pre-order activity. Consumers can visit the VMall and pay a 100 yuan deposit to reserve the device (standard or Pro) ahead of its official unveiling.

Nova 13 Pro is coming in a new avatar. The standard variant shows a similar design to the Nova 12. However this time, the company has enhanced the Pro model’s design. You can check the differences between Nova 13 and 13 Pro HERE.

Huawei will be the first to unveil a tri-fold phone this year. But it seems the Mate developer is not the “only one” in this segment. After Huawei, Samsung, and Honor, Xiaomi is also in the news to join the triple foldable phone trend in the time ahead.

As Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu noted, Xiaomi is making a triple-foldable handset, just like Huawei. The company could add this new creation to its Mix product family.

Some other details on this matter say that Xiaomi might unveil its tri-fold or its prototype at MWC 2025. We could see more than one triple-foldable by the next year.

But these rumors still await confirmation. Xiaomi hasn’t commented on this matter so far. Hence, it would be better to take this input with a grain of salt for now. Since tri-fold has become a trend, we may see more tech vendors in this pool in future.

Triple-Foldable: A Trend!

After five years of hard work and dedication, Huawei is ready to exhibit the world’s first tri-fold next month. Yu Chengdong the company’s consumer business Chairman has confirmed to launch the device in September. But the release date is unknown.

Samsung is also in this race. The company was about to release its triple-folding model this year, clashing with Huawei for the crown of a foldable king. Although the OEM delayed its device following the “thinner display” issue for its folding phones.

Honor is also on the same page. The CEO of Honor Company – Zhao Ming said that the company is seeking creative ideas for its foldable lineup. Honor has also applied for various patents like a scrollable folding device, a triple folding phone, and more.

Now Xiaomi seems to join the queue. Thus, consumers will get more options in the triple foldable segment with more brands joining the trend. Although an official confirmation is mandatory to know the exact details about this subject.

WIKO is known for its Huawei-like smartphones and the company seems ready to soon unveil two new devices: Hi Enjoy 70 and 70m. A new leak says that WIKO could add more models to its Hi Enjoy gallery in the upcoming weeks with a familiar design.

Tipster @UncleKanshan notes that two new WIKO smartphones may launch soon. These are probably the WIKO Hi Enjoy 70 and 70m. He adds that the overall appearance of these two handsets will likely be similar to the Huawei Enjoy 70.

Hi Enjoy 70m has already been spotted on the China Telecom database. It has the model number MKY-AN20 and will come in Snow White and Gold Black colors.

Other parameters include a 6.75-inch display panel with a 720 x 1600 pixels resolution. It will adopt a Dimensity 700 chipset paired with three different RAM and storage variants. These are: 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB.

It may feature a single rear camera with 13MP and a 5MP selfie lens for the front side. There would be an in-built 5000mAh lithium battery. The phone will further support NFC, dual SIM, USB 2.0, a flashlight, a gravity sensor,  and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

  • Dimensions: 168.3 x 77.7 x 8.98mm and 202 grams weight

China Telecom database also shows images of the new Hi Enjoy 70m phone. The outlook is similar to the Huawei Enjoy 70. It has a P60-like rear camera arrangement with a single lens and an LED Flash. The front face shows a single-hole notch design.

Probably the Standard Hi Enjoy 70 would bear identical specs as the 70m to some extent. Though there might be changes in terms of display or the internal chipset.

Huawei Enjoy 70:

The device features the same 6.75-inch screen. Though specs like the battery, as well as the chip, differ from the above model. Enjoy 70 runs on Kirin 710A and comes with HarmonyOS 4 out of the box. It has a dual-lens setup with 50MP + 2MP lenses.

On the front, there is an 8MP selfie sensor. It packs a 6000mAh battery with a 22.5W super fast charging capacity. An extra benefit is the X key that enables quick access to certain operations by going to settings or opening the smartphone.

Huawei and Samsung were suspected to be the only two rivals in the triple-foldable race. But it seems Honor could be a new competitor in this game. The new input reveals that Honor could compete with Huawei for the ‘first tri-fold’ phone crown.

Honor reportedly revealed its new plans for foldable in an interview. After unveiling the Magic V3 fold phone, the company’s CEO – Zhao Ming attended an interrogation.

During the interview, Zhao mentioned that the company is exploring creative ways for its folding line. He adds that many new patent applications are already underway related to new foldables like a tri-fold, scrollable folding device, and more.

“In terms of patent layout, Honor has already laid out a variety of technologies such as tri-fold, scroll, etc.”

Starting this year, Honor launched its first flip-flop model – Magic V Flip. The device comes with the largest cover screen so far. It gives a new experience of operating various applications on the cover screen without even unfolding the device.

It seems the company has more devices to unveil for the first time like a triple foldable. But it’s unclear whether this invention will release this year or by 2025.

Thus, not only one but Huawei could have two challengers in the tri-fold phone race including Honor. The former is still working on its triple-folding handset. As per early inputs, this new device could be 10-inch large and adopt a Z form factor.

The device may use the UTG (Ultra-Thin-Glass) solution to reduce crease and prevent common folding issues that consumers often complain about. Huawei may introduce it by the fourth quarter of this year. Yet an official confirmation awaits.

Samsung, on the other hand, is unlikely to launch a tri-foldable this year. The South Korean company is said to have delayed this subject in favor of better technologies and effective improvements such as “thinnerness” over previous folding phones.

It would be interesting to see how Honor will make its alleged tri-fold phone different and more advanced than its rivals in the consumer market.
