Huawei P30 Pro was launched with EMUI 9.1, at that time, the software was really focused on bringing new capabilities. Then the phone received EMUI 10.0, EMUI 10.1, and EMUI 11. Subsequently, the P30 Pro last year installed EMUI 12.

However, there’s no mention of Huawei P30 Pro in the EMUI 13 roadmap. This is quite unusual for the smartphone as it completes the fourth year of its release. Huawei may not have any intention to hurt the feelings of the owners of this supermassive flagship. However, the company should keep the users interested in this P series smartphone by providing them a reason to be interactive.

For that, an upgrade packed with new features would be a perfect deal. And what could be better than the EMUI 13? This new upgrade has a brand new set of features such as service widgets, which have been missing from the EMUI system.

It also installs swipe-up app gestures to show key features with simple actions. Furthermore, the Super Device is also making a debut for global smartphone owners to fill the void of HarmonyOS in the global market. There are also new additions that are intertwined in the software to provide faster access to features than EMUI 12.

Amid all of these advantages, Huawei P30 Pro should get at least one more software upgrade. Because Huawei has already released HarmonyOS 3 for the smartphone earlier this year. Therefore, it would be better to do the same for the global Huawei P30 Pro users.

Since the phone is already pushed to occasional software update mode, the EMUI 13 rollout could be the right way to mark the Huawei P30 Pro farewell.

Changelog reveals that this firmware has improvements for the user experience in certain situations. This reflects the company’s will to provide new optimizations for the smartphone even after 4 years of the launch. Isn’t that amazing?

Although, not much has been revealed but this new version will impact the user experience on a positive note. However, specifics will be revealed once the user feedback comes in. To be mentioned, the July 2023 EMUI update for Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with software version 12.0.0.145 and a package size of 189MB.

A few days ago, Huawei P30 Pro also received a similar update with EMUI version 12.0.0.169. The download size is also relative to the Mate 20 Pro at 184MB. This shows that both phones have been elected for a similar set of improvements. However, we can’t reach a conclusion at the moment.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a 6.39-inch OLED display with 2k+ resolution (3120 x 1440 pixels). The display has a wide notch to house various new face id related sensors and a powerful 24MP selfie camera.

The rear camera bump includes a 40 MP (color) + 20 MP (color) + 8 MP (color), aperture of f/1.8 + f2.2 + f2.4, and supports autofocus (depth focus, phase focus, focus contrast, and precision focus).

The phone packs a 4200mAh battery, which could recharge with a 40W max super fast charging. The Mate 20 Pro was launched with EMUI 9.0 but later received subsequent upgrades. To be specific, the phone installed EMUI 10.0, EMUI 10.1, and EMUI 11. and then EMUI 12.

With the latest version, Huawei Mate 20 Pro users can enjoy new features such as large folders, a control panel, a notifications panel, and more. Is there are shot at EMUI 13? Huawei has not revealed plans to upgrade Huawei Mate 20 series to the next EMUI version. Meanwhile, we remain optimistic on this matter and will keep you posted with all of the latest information.

How to Update:

The July 2023 EMUI 12 update notification will appear on Huawei Mate 20 Pro. If not, then navigate to Settings > and then tap “System & updates”, from here you need to open Software update. CHECK FOR UPDATES and then the device will check for new firmware.

Huawei is sending firmware version 12.0.0.169 for Huawei P30 Pro with a downloadable package of 184 megabytes. According to the changelog, the phone is sipping new system improvements for a better user experience in certain situations.

Rollout:

Huawei P30 Pro is receiving July 2023 software update with the latest system improvements in phase. Therefore, the release may take some time to reach all of the users. However, we suggest all of you to get check this firmware manually via Settings.

Patch:

Last month, Huawei also released a software patch for EMUI 12. It installed stability improvements. However, the package only weighs 19.23MB with no EMUI version. Yet, some users reported of not receiving this patch.

Some of the Huawei P30 Pro owners are still facing camera blur issues, which is not new but it’s quite annoying. However, we would like to know user feedback after installing this update.

EMUI 13:

Currently, Huawei is testing EMUI 13 beta for recent flagship smartphones – P50 Pro, P50 Pocket, and other recent devices. But we haven’t heard of EMUI 13 eligibility for this P-series flagship.

How to update

You can download the latest improvements for your device via Settings > System & updates > Software update > CHECK FOR UPDATES. On the other hand, you can try Huawei HiSuite on a PC or MAC to request the new firmware.

• This update will not erase your personal data, but we recommend that you back up any important data before updating.
• The update package will be deleted automatically after successful installation.
• You should charge your phone above 50% to get a seamless installation.
