Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 users are grabbing the new October 2024 update with certain security improvements. The company has added useful security system changes in this firmware. Device owners will also find bug fixes in the latest rollout.

The tech giant is releasing the October 2024 update for Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 global units. It upgrades the security patch level to the current month.

A good part of the update is it will protect your device’s system and data from privacy exploits and harmful malware. It further increases the tablet’s potential to fight against vulnerabilities that may ruin the overall user experience.

However, the bad part is that the device is still running on the HarmonyOS 4.0 version. The company hasn’t upgraded the MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet to the 4.2 software build. We anticipate hearing about the new rollout for the flagship device soon.

According to the changelog, MatePad Pro 13.2 users can identify the new October 2024 update with the HarmonyOS 4.0.0.141 version. One has to download a software package of 356 MB to install the latest security improvements to the handset.

  • Security: Integrated the October 2024 security patch to enhance the system security.

October 2024 security patch fixes 6 major CVEs and 18 third-party library defects. It improves the issues related to the security, Wi-Fi, and lock-screen module.

The update also claims to offer performance optimizations for a better and more stable user experience. Hence, you should prioritize this firmware and install it as soon as possible.

HarmonyOS 4.2 rollout for global tablets?

Huawei has served the HarmonyOS 4.2 upgrade to almost every eligible tablet and wearable in the home ground. However, such a treatment is still missing for the devices in the global market.

Although the company has begun its work with the HarmonyOS NEXT and it may soon release HarmonyOS 4.2 build for the global users as well. If not immediately, the company might bring this offering by the end of this year or early 2025.

Huawei has added 8 more devices to the OpenHarmony 5.0 compatibility list. These models have participated in the HarmonyOS NEXT closed and public beta programs. Perhaps the company wants them to be compatible with the latest OS version.

A few weeks back Huawei added four models to the OpenHarmony 5.0 list. These were Mate 60, Mate 60 Pro, Mate X5, and MatePad Pro 13.2. Now the tech giant has added 8 more Huawei devices to the OpenHarmony 5.0 compatibility section.

Pura 70 series, Pocket 2, and more models have passed the OpenHarmony 5.0 compatibility test. This qualification implies that these models will run effectively with HarmonyOS NEXT without resulting in performance or stability issues.

You can check the complete device list below.
  • Pura 70
  • Pura 70 Satellite SMS Edition
  • Pura 70 Pro
  • Pura 70 Ultra

The 5.0 is the latest release version of the OpenHarmony operating system. It contains new features for ArkUI, useful changes for file management, app framework, graphics, images, and Windows. It also accompanies some fixes for the Web module.

OpenHarmony is the foundation for native apps in HarmonyOS NEXT. The company’s self-developed OS uses a custom unified system built on OpenHarmony.

Hence, it is important to check if a Huawei smartphone or tablet is compatible with OpenHarmony to run smoothly on the HarmonyOS NEXT stable versions.

Such compatibility tests also verify if a device can remain stable and work efficiently with multiple app interfaces, heavy tasks, and other complex scenarios.

OpenHarmony compatibility points out that the device is a perfect product for HarmonyOS. The company currently has 12 OpenHarmony-supported models. It may soon add more devices to the list as the HarmonyOS NEXT beta program proceeds.

The company is gearing up the latest software rollout for its global devices. After the P60 Pro and Mate X3 foldable, Huawei is bringing the October 2024 update to the Mate 50 Pro smartphone users.

According to the changelog, Mate 50 Pro users can fetch the new firmware with the EMUI version 14.2.0.152. Make sure to have enough storage space in your handset as the software weighs 379 MB. We also suggest using a stable Wi-Fi connection.

October 2024 update changelog doesn’t bring any major changes to the phone. Yet, it resolves the hidden bugs and issues of the device that might have been ruining the user experience. As a result, the phone holders get a bug-free experience.

The patch also strengthens the device’s potential to fight against harmful privacy exploits that could lead to data leaks and other problems. Hence, your confidential details remain secure in all aspects.

  • Integrates security patches released in October 2024 for improved system security.

Is Mate XT coming to global markets?

Yes, some internal sources suggested that Huawei could launch the Mate XT tri-fold on its global Mate shelves. That would be interesting news as the company skipped the launch of last year’s Mate smartphones for overseas customers.

The exact timing is unclear. Although the company may introduce the world’s first triple foldable in global markets by the first quarter of 2025. Read More

Huawei is rolling out the October 2024 EMUI software update for the P60 Pro and Mate X3 phone holders. The update is gradually approaching users in batches. It may take some days to deliver the latest security patch to all the eligible models.

October 2024 security patch has the least number of fixes this time. Thus, installing the latest update will offer you a stable and bug-free experience on the device.

The October 2024 security patch eliminates 6 vulnerabilities found in the last software version. It also fixes 2 critical and 16 high-level third-party library issues that could harm the stored data or ruin the productive functioning of the phone.

Apart from security fixes, the P60 Pro and Mate X3 foldable phone users may also discover a noticeable performance boost with the latest EMUI firmware.

There could also be some internal changes or enhancements for the network connection, stability, and other aspects, that you may be entitled to experience after installation. Therefore, download the firmware as soon as it reaches your handset.

Huawei P60 Pro and Mate X3 smartphone users can identify the October 2024 firmware with EMUI version 14.2.0.152 and a package of 378 Megabytes.

The tech giant is focusing on the HarmonyOS NEXT these days which disappointed its global users to some extent. It’s good that the OEM is busy enhancing its self-developed OS. But global users also require the same treatment for their devices.

Many users are still expecting the EMUI 14.2 rollout for their handsets. Yet, Huawei hasn’t mentioned any details on this subject, making its global users unhappy.

Perhaps the company needs a robust global software update system. Doing so can help offer timely version rollouts to keep Huawei phones interactive and increase their lifespan. We can only anticipate to see good changes soon on this matter.

News regarding Huawei reveals that four devices have recently passed the OpenHarmony 5.0 compatibility test. The list counts the first batch devices of the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta. More devices may soon join this compatibility list.

OpenHarmony is an open-source distributed operation system platform, launched by OpenAtom Foundation. It has a layered architecture as well as supports several types of devices like printers, speakers, wearables, and mini systems.

The company has recently released the OpenHarmony 5.0 version with a set of new ArkUI features and enhancements. The build also fixes certain issues found in the Web module, input method framework, and other significant segments.

As of now, some Huawei devices have passed the compatibility test for the OpenHarmony 5.0 operating system. The list of compatible models is as follows:

  • Mate 60
  • Mate 60 Pro
  • Mate X5
  • MatePad Pro 13.2

OpenHarmony compatibility test ensures that devices or industrial apps and products comply accurately with the technical requirements of the OpenHarmony software system. Simply put, it helps in the long-term run and stability aspects.

At the same time, these testing looks if the product can remain persistent with the business experiences and app interfaces or will fail in the middle.

Devices like Mate 60 and Mate X5 have qualified for the OpenHarmony 4.1 release version compatibility test in June this year. Now the company has added more models to this segment for an efficient and compatible experience.

This testing is also beneficial for the HarmonyOS NEXT-based experience. At the HDC 2024, the company announced that HarmonyOS NEXT is a full-scenario intelligent operating system as well as relies upon OpenHarmony.

Thus, compatibility with the OpenHarmony 5.0 version will help Huawei devices remain supportive and responsive to the HarmonyOS NEXT features and capabilities.
