Now it’s time to compare the thickness between Huawei Mate XT, Mate X5, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and Honor Magic V3.

So without any further ados, let’s jump into the comparison!

Note that this comparison mentions the thickness of the device in both folded and unfolded states. Also, we’ll place the unfolded thickness first for every device.

Huawei Mate XT

The world’s first triple-foldable phone debuted on September 10. It uses a dual-hinge system for a smooth folding mechanism. The body structure is quite thin and claims to be durable against accidental slips and other external damage.

Mate XT has a thickness of 12.8mm when folded and 3.6-4.8mm when in unfolded state. The overall dimensions are 156.7 x 219.0 x 4.8mm in the unfolded state and 156.7 x 73.5 x 12.8mm in the folded state.

Huawei Mate XT launched with an incredible design as well as promising specs and it’s time to compare the tri-fold with one of the flagship foldable – Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. How both models are giving a tough fight to each other is worth noting.

Before we begin, note that this comparison is based on the information shared by these phone makers. Users can consider these specs at times of purchasing any of these folding phones. So without any further delays, let’s begin the battle!

Dimensions:

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 153.5 x 132.6 x 5.6mm in unfolded state whereas, 155.3 x 68.1 x 12.1mm when folded. It weights 239 grams (8.43 oz)

Being a tri-fold phone, the Mate XT’s dimensions are slightly different than a regular foldable. It is 156.7mm tall and weighs 298 grams. The breadth and width are:

  • Single Screen: 73.5 mm wide, 12.8 mm thick
  • Double Screen: 143.0 mm wide, 7.45 mm/4.75 mm thick
  • Three-screen: 219.0 mm wide, 3.6/3.6/4.75mm thick

Display:

Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a cover display of Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2x of 6.3-inch. It has a resolution of 968 x 2376 pixels, 410 PPI, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 2600nits peak brightness.

The main display is a 7.6-inch Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel with 1856 x 2160 pixels resolution. It supports 374 PPI, 91% screen-to-body ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, 2600 nits peak brightness, and HDR10+ display capability.

Huawei Mate XT display panel is divided into three parts:

  • Single Screen: 2232 x 1008 pixels resolution, 6.4-inch
  • Double Screen: 2232 x 2048 pixels resolution, 7.9-inch
  • Three-screen: 2232 x 3184 pixels resolution, 10.2-inch

These are LTPO OLED slates with 1.07 billion colors, a P3 wide color gamut, a 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz maximum touch feedback.

Hinge:

Samsung has used a smaller and slimmer “wing plate” that enables smooth folding and unfolding. It aligns the interior to protect the display from any mechanical damage. It also claims to be durable due to special materials.

Huawei, on the other hand, has imposed the first dual-hinge system for its Mate XT. This tech enables the device to fold inward and outward without causing crease issues. It uses two solutions: UTG and non-Newtonian fluid for durability. Read More

RAM:

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 runs on 12GB RAM whereas, the Mate XT comes with 16GB RAM. Both have the same storage variants: 256GB/512GB/1TB.

Chipset:

Samsung has equipped the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 octa-core chip to its book-type foldable. It is paired with an Adreno 750 (1 GHz) graphics processing unit.

Mate XT’s chip isn’t confirmed yet. But a few inputs say that the device has the Kirin 9010 5G processor on its board. This is the same chip found in the Pura 70 Ultra.

Camera:

Galaxy Z Fold 6 rear camera includes a 50MP main camera (23 mm, f/1.8 aperture, dual pixel PDAF, OIS), a 12MP ultrawide-angle shooter (12mm, f/2.2 aperture), and a 10MP periscope lens (66mm, f/2.4 aperture, PDAF, OIS, and 3x optical zoom).

The front face has a 4MP selfie sensor (26mm) with f/1.8 aperture and a 10MP cover camera (24mm) with f/1.8 aperture. Both support various shooting modes.

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design has an octagonal camera module. The framework consists of a 50MP main camera with a 10-speed variable aperture (24mm, f/1.4-4.0, PDAF OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide lens (13mm, f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree, PDAF), and a 12MP periscope sensor (125mm, f/3.4 aperture, PDAF, OIS, 5.5x optical zoom).

On the front side, there is an 8MP selfie sensor with multiple shooting and video modes (f/2.2 aperture).

Battery and Charger:

Samsung has packed the Galaxy Z Fold 6  folding phone with a 4400mAh battery with 25W wired charging, 15W fast wireless, and 4.5Wreverse wireless charging.

Mate XT tri-fold brings a 5600mAh battery with 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, 7.5W wireless reverse charging, as well as a 5W reverse wired charging. Users will also get a power adapter and car charger in the box.

Colors:

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is available in five colors: Silver Shadow, Pink, Navy, Crafted Black, White
  • Huawei Mate XT comes in two colors: Rich Red (Ruihong) and Dark Black (Xuanhei)

Software:

Galaxy Z Fold 6 runs on Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 software whereas, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design relies upon HarmonyOS 4.2 software system.

Conclusion

Here we end the specs comparison between Huawei Mate XT tri-fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 foldable phones.

EMUI 13 comes with plenty of new features including swipe-up app gestures, new animations, customizable large folder layout, service widgets, and more. Aside from new capabilities, the EMUI 13 also brings new changes to the settings menu.

In comparison, the typography of the entire UI remained unchanged in EMUI 13 and the background cards are also identical to EMUI 12.

Some of the changes could be found in the settings options area, as the company has removed a few options and reshuffled a few features.

EMUI 13 settings menu

The Device+ feature is replaced with Super Device. This is a key functionality of the HarmonyOS operating system and allows users to connect all of a Huawei smartphone. The new addition has various capabilities in terms of smart device collaboration.

The “Notifications” area now also hosts status bar settings in the menu. last but not least, EMUI 13 removes wallet and pay settings from the menu if the wallet app is not installed.

That’s it, these are the key changes that have been made in the EMUI 13 settings as compared to EMUI 12.

Huawei brought a new battery indicator with the HarmonyOS 4 operating system, there are new changes in this section and it’s time that we compare it with the main competitor – iOS 17.

Let’s take a look at the difference between these two in terms of the following:

  • Size
  • Color
  • Visibility

iOS 17:

iOS has the most wide and tall battery indicator in all smartphones including Android devices. The battery indicator without percentage text has an outline and a white battery level area, which changes dynamically.

Once the battery percentage is enabled, the icon removes the outline and expands the fill into a battery shape with transparent number text engraved in the center. On the home screen wallpaper, the indicator has a white color scheme. The settings menu adapts a black color scheme. ios 17 vs HarmonyOS 4 batter indicator icon

HarmonyOS 4:

As we explored, HarmonyOS 4 brings a new battery indicator identical to iOS but you may find it more precise than its competitor.

Talking about the shape, the HarmonyOS 4 battery indicator is slightly small but it has an increased border visibility. The color schemes are white and dark. HarmonyOS 4 carries borders with or without a battery percentage option. In comparison to iOS 17, HarmonyOS 4 brings perfect constraints on all sides of the icon.

Conclusion:

The changes in the battery indicator icon take HarmonyOS 4 close to iOS 17 and the competition between these two is shrinking to the lowest. The size factor gives iOS 17 more visibility while HarmonyOS 4 picks the win for subtleness.

Huawei has always nurtured its users with amazingly good connectivity features. One is the HarmonyOS 3.0 Super Device feature, while the other is EMUI 12 Device+. Today we will discuss, how these features are different from each other, and which one serves best for you.

Interconnection is a demanding service, every user requires a smooth, secure and reliable connection between their devices. As we are moving ahead with technologies, connectivity has started to lacking behind.

Interaction problems among devices have become a common but major issue. But thanks to Huawei, it has taken care of both Chinese as well as global users in this aspect. The company has sheltered its devices with Super Device and Device+ features and managed to offer efficient interconnection services.

So let’s begin our exploration with Super Device and Device+

HarmonyOS 3.0 Super Device

Launched with HarmonyOS 2.0, Super Device is a prominent feature that drives all HarmonyOS gadgets effectively. It allows you to connect and operate other smart devices just by using the smartphone. For instance, with one tap, users can control and manage smart homes, smart vehicles, and other eligible gadgets.

With the latest HarmonyOS version, Huawei has enhanced this feature to more extent. Consequently, various devices can be flexibly combined, interconnected, and coordinate with different Huawei IDs. This gives you instant results in smooth and efficient interactions between your devices.

HarmonyOS 3.0 Super Device

As mentioned, Huawei introduced this feature with HarmonyOS 2.0. At that time, global users were also expecting to taste this feature on their devices. However, the company soon made it clear that HarmonyOS phone-oriented features will remain exclusive in China.

Though users have the chance to enjoy HarmonyOS eye-catching elements on other devices. Such as tablets, smartwatches, speakers, smart screens, and more. Yet, phone features are still in anticipation.

EMUI 12 Device+

To benefit global users with efficient interconnection, Huawei unveiled EMUI 12 with the Device+ feature. Just like Super Device, the respective feature allows you to collaborate with numerous devices.

It makes your tablet or smartphone a hub for nearby Huawei gadgets. As a result, you can easily manage your every handset with a single device. Despite Huawei has tried to provide all its users with equal benefits, here are some dissimilarities that will hype your urge for HarmonyOS 3.0 system.

Dissimilarities between Super Device and Device+

HarmonyOS 3.0 Super Device

1. Multi-Device Task Center

Although both features exhibit some fascinating services for consumers. Yet, only Super Device features can operate several tasks between your different devices. In Super Device settings, users can enable a Multi-Device Task Center that allows switching tasks between devices logged into the same Huawei ID.

2. Nearby Devices Map

Yes, you will find a map of nearby devices when enabling the Super Device feature in contrast to Device+. It allows you to connect with supported devices on the map with just a drag-and-drop gesture.

HarmonyOS 3.0 Super Device

Apart from these features, the rest of the things are similar. To summarize, we can say that Super Device and Device+ both play a significant role in providing an immersive user experience. However, I think Huawei has paid a little more attention to HarmonyOS 3.0 with some additional features than EMUI 12.

Meanwhile, EMUI still has equal part of Android inside rather than being a HarmonyOS based software.

The battery percentage is an essential feature and it’s available on almost all Android and even iOS devices. So today, we’ll take a deep look into the battery percentage icon comparison between Apple’s iOS 16, Google Android 13, Huawei EMUI 12 and HarmonyOS, Samsung One UI 5, Xiaomi MIUI 13, and OnePlus OxygenOS 13.

Battery icon:

A battery percentage is a number (numeric) that allows you to view the accurate battery level on your smartphone. Some phones don’t enable this feature by default.

Comparison:

For this comparison, we’ll look into the appearance, and how the percentage text appears around or inside the battery icon. Also, we’ll look into the additional options that each of these software offers to enhance the user experience.

iOS 16:

The notch on iPhone has forced Apple to oust battery percentage from its mobile software but iOS 16 has brought back this feature ono place. The battery icon is placed in landscape position including percentage text inside the battery icon. Both of these elements change colors into light and dark appearances based on the screen colors. It looks good.

ios 16 battery percentage icon

Android 13:

The stock Android 13 has its own way of showing the battery percentage label on the right side of the battery icon (vertical). Yeah, it looks good. However, there’s no option of showing the battery percent inside the icon.

android 13 battery icon

EMUI 12:

EMUI 12 and HarmonyOS share the same typography for battery labels but there’s a difference between them. EMUI 12 shows the percentage label on the left and HarmonyOS on the right. Also, this two software offer you to show battery-level text either inside the battery icon, on the side, or not at all.

harmonyos 2 battery percentage icon

One UI 5:

Samsung also follows Android’s tradition because One UI also comes with a vertical battery icon but a battery percentage level on the left side. It is a decent look-through.

one ui 5

MIUI 13:

Xiaomi MIUI brings you both options to show percentages inside the icon (landscape) or on the right side. But one thing to mention is that its in-icon battery doesn’t clearly show the label.

MIUI 13

OxygenOS 13:

OxygenOS is quite interesting and comes with more options than any of the above-mentioned contenders to show improve the aesthetics of the battery percentage area.

There are two ways to customize the feature – one for the battery style and battery percentage.

Battery style has:

  1. Horizontal
  2. Vertical
  3. Loop
  4. Do not show

Percentage style:

  1. Inside battery icon
  2. Outside battery icon
  3. Do not show

oxygenos 13

These options make it the most interactive provider of battery percentage settings. However, the appearance still lacks proper visibility for all of the available options.

Winner:

So, which is the winner? It’s iOS 16, followed by HarmonyOS. iOS uses a full-color fill to show the battery percentage inside the icon. Also, the battery icon is a big tall and maintained width as compared to other software. This allows Apple to increase the text size. If the battery level decreases, the battery icon doesn’t decrease the level, which keeps the percentage text visible.

HarmonyOS and EMUI 12 battery percentage visibility is quite good and deserves second place. However, one thing to note is that none of these have a better in-icon label than iOS 16.

Apple has released iOS 16 for iPhones and users are installing this new software to get the latest features. We’ll compare iOS 16 with the iOS 15 control center and inspect its different perspectives and what’s new in these prime iOS versions.

What is Control Panel:

Control Center allows you to enable or disable various instant features without requiring you to open them entirely on the Settings menu. This feature is similar to quick settings in Android phones.

iOS 15:

iOS 15 Control center allows you to access the control center with a swipe downwards from the top right corner of the screen.

From there you can manage connectivity such as BlueTooth, WiFi, Airplane mode, and more. On the other hand, you can control playback, as well as brightness and sound sliders.

Furthermore, you can edit these switches from the Settings and add more shortcuts.

iOS 16:

iOS 16 brings you the same Control Center as iOS 16 and there are no major changes found in appearance. Meanwhile, the options remain the same as well.

However, EMUI 12 is something new and we’ll conduct a comparison series between EMUI 12 and EMUI 11 before EMUI 13 comes out. For this, we’ll first look into the changes that have been made to the EMUI quick settings or control panel and check out the differences.

Time to dive in.

EMUI 11: Quick Settings

EMUI 11 quick settings have the traditional quick access icons with a switch feature, which you can enable or disable with a tap. Other than that, you can also change the brightness level through the slider.

Furthermore, the notification panel is attached to the quick settings. Similar to the last version, the EMUI 11 also comes with various customization features to add/remove icons.

The panel has a soft background color that helps you differentiate between the icon and the background.

EMUI 12: Control Panel

EMUI 12 comes with a brand new Control Panel, which is a combination of various services in one place. The Control panel includes a media controller, and smart device manager that helps you connect and control devices such as tablets, FreeBuds, and Smartwatches.

That’s not it, Huawei has retained the quick settings icons from EMUI 11 and added them inside the control panel.

The EMUI 12 control panel has a better appearance with lots of new features. On the flip side, you can edit the switches or disable the smart device panel as per your preference.

We’ll soon bring you the next comparison, until then stay connected.

iOS 16 comes with a number of new additions and slight changes that will enhance your user experience. Yes! There are also new improvements on the home screen and we’ll be going to make a comparison between iOS 15 and iOS 16.

Diving right away, iOS 16 doesn’t bring any major changes to the home screen as the icons, fonts, and notifications indicator remain the same as in iOS 15. However, a major change that you’ll see on the home screen of iOS 16 includes the new “Search” widget above the bottom dock.

Interestingly, this works as a search button but when you switch screens, you’ll see an indicator and as the screen stops, your phone’s screen turns indicators into a search widget.

The rest of the home screen features remain unchanged at the moment, as you can delete any app by tapping and holding on the icon and adding new widgets via the same process. However, iOS 16 is still under beta testing and we may see optimum change with this upcoming version.
