For reference, the standard Huawei Pura 70 model has a 6.6-inch screen size. While others have a 6.77-inch (6.8) panel. The actual viewable area is slightly smaller than the given measures. Although Huawei might increase this area with Mate 70.

Inputs further reveal that the entire Huawei Mate 70 series will use a 6.7 or 6.8-inch screen. It will sport a 1.5K resolution for a clean and vibrant visual experience.

The leak contradicts earlier revelations to some extent. A previous input suggested that the upcoming Mate models will adopt the Pura 70 series screen sizes. The tipster also reveals that Huawei Mate 70 series will bring a stronger and improved battery. The cell capacity is unknown for the moment. Yet it could be greater than the Pura 70 handsets (5200mAh). Thus, users will get durable battery life.

SINA Technology on Weibo reports that as of July 16, the Huawei Pura 70 series shipment volume surged by 125%YoY compared to the P60 lineup launched last year.

The input is quite in line with Kuo’s prediction for the Pura 70 series. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expected a mass shipment of these models in the first half of this year. He also said that new 5G Kirin chips will lead to 100% YoY shipment growth than P60.

It would be better to take this input with a grain of salt at the moment. Apart from the Mate 70 series, the tipster drags the attention to several foldables in the pipeline.

Leak says that before the Mate 70 series official unveiling, the company will release new folding devices. The list may include the most-awaited tri-fold handset, Mate X6, an inner folding device, and a mid-range small vertical Nova foldable.

TechInsights’s Senior Director of Wireless Smartphone Strategic Services – Sui Qian said that the Pura 70 series will remain a hot topic in the consumer market.

Flagship Pura 70 will continue the innovative standard and strength of the Mate 60 series in the market, increasing the sales revenue as well as the growth of Huawei.

Sui further said that there is a high chance of the Pura 70 series reaching new heights this year itself. If the pricing remains reasonable and the company resolves the production capacity issues effectively, the Huawei Pura 70 series could exceed 10 million units in 2024.

The analyst forecasted this scenario for all the Pura 70 models including the standard, Pro, Pro+, and Ultra variants. However, it would be worth seeing how far things fall in Huawei’s favor and boost the overall growth of the Chinese company.

Ming-Chi Kuo predicted earlier that the Huawei P70 series may increase its shipment by 150% this year, compared to its predecessors. Giving an approximate value, the observer said that the new P lineup could easily surpass 10-12 million units in 2024.

The mobile information app shows that the Huawei P70 Pro lineup uses Kirin 9010 with 12-core architecture. It includes two 2.3GHz large cores, six 2.18GHz medium, and four 1.55GHz small cores.

We need to understand that the new Kirin 9010 is still an octa-core chip and the increased core count is reflecting hyperthreading technology.

The Kirin 9000s carries an 8-core architecture including a 2.62GHz large core, three 2.15GHz medium core, and four 1.53GHz A510 cores.

In comparison, the large core has now changed from 2.62GHz to 2.3GHz, and the medium core has changed from 2.15GHz to 2.18GHz. The small core has changed from 1.53GHz to 1.55GHz.

The frequency chart shows that the 9010 is just an optimized version of the Kirin 9000S. There aren’t any major changes made to the architecture. On the other hand, the chip is still using Huawei’s self-developed Maleoon 910 graphics unit.

The chip’s performance remains unknown but the company may have made power efficiency upgrades with new adjustments. To be mentioned, the chip is probably serving 5G connectivity similar to the 9000S.

Manufacturing process:

Huawei Kirin’s manufacturing process has been hidden since the Kirin 9000s, was introduced last year. The chip information is also not listed on the official specifications of the Huawei Pura 70 series.

The Chinese tech maker has been working with chipset development technologies without public revelations. It is more likely that the chip is utilizing the rumored 7nm chip process. However, we expect more information to come on this matter later on.

These four models carry “Vane Design” a new design philosophy for the Huawei flagship. It reflects in the aesthetics as they differ from the previous generation of Huawei P-series models.

The triangle-shaped camera bump is new to the lineup and has properties that match the rear color including the frame. The standard version has a flat design while the rest of the Pro model comes with slightly curved edges from back to front.

Standard Pura 70 sports a 6.6-inch screen and Pura 70 Pro, Pro+, and Ultra models offer quad-curved OLED screens. Consumers can experience a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and 300 Hz touch sampling rate on these phones.

The screen is protected with second-generation Kunlun glass with improved strength.

Battery:

Camera:

Huawei is using brand-new camera technologies and image processing capabilities with the XMAGE system. The standard version has a triple camera system including a 50-megapixel main, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide angle, and a 12mp periscope telephoto camera.

The Pro and Pro+ share the same rear camera specifications consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera. It has a secondary 12.5-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera and a third 48MP macro telephoto camera.

The Ultra variant brings increased photography capabilities featuring a 1-inch sensor. Huawei said that this phone is crafted with the highest quality mobile photography.

The main camera in the Ultra version has 50 megapixel, 40-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel macro telephoto periscope camera with 100X digital zoom.

Huawei Pura 70 series launched with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f4.0 in the first three models. The Ultra model has a large variable aperture range of f/1.6 to f/4.0. The enables users to capture different aspects of a scenario. Meanwhile, the front camera on these devices stands at 13MP to take selfies.

Tipster @UncleKanshan has now shared a new sheet, saying the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra has a quad-lens arrangement with a 50MP 1-inch large IMX 989 main camera sensor, a 40MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP periscope shooter, and a 13MP AutoFocus sensor.

While a few leaks already stamped the Sony IMX 989 RYYB sensor for the Pura 70 Ultra model, the new additions seem to be a 13MP autofocus lens that can auto-manage the optics in a lens to keep the subject in focus frame. It reduces the pressure when clicking a perfectly focused image.

Four new colors?

Another highlight is that the Pura 70 Ultra could possess four new colors –  Grass Green, Mocha Brown, Ceramic White, and Ceramic Black, all with a leather back panel.

Other configurations in the sheet include 100W charging support. Apart from the Ultra variant, the sheet also describes camera specs for the other three models.

For instance, the standard is likely to bring a quad-lens setup with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP periscope shooter, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 13MP AF. It may support 66W charging capability.

Huawei P70 Pro and Pro+ on the other hand, could adopt a 50MP main snapper, a 50MP periscope lens, a 13 MP ultrawide shooter (IMX 686 sensor for Pro+ variant), and a 13MP AF sensor. Both these models may feature 100W charging support.

It is unclear how far the leaked camera and charging specs sheet fit right with the official parameters of the Pura 70 handsets. Yet, it points out the fact that the Huawei Pura 70 series is likely to boost the photography experience for consumers.
