Every month, the company updates its security patch details. Alongside, it adds or removes devices from the rollout list based on their compatibility. The current month is no exception to this theory and Huawei has shared the eligible models list.

The details describe two sections: monthly and quarterly. Huawei devices in the former section get the benefits of regular security rollouts while those in the quarterly part fetch new security improvements once in three months.

Note that Huawei has not yet started the October 2024 update distribution. Also, the company rolls these security firmware in batches. Hence, it takes some days to cover all the eligible units in a particular region. You can try out a manual installation.

To download the update manually, go to Settings > System & Updates > Software Updates. Now click on CHECK FOR UPDATES and let the device search for new versions. Huawei has fixed 10 system vulnerabilities and various third-party library issues with August 2024 security patch. These CVEs might exploit the overall user experience by ruining the lock screen, targeting the security module, or affecting the device’s data.

Looking into the device list, the company has moved the Mate Xs 2 and the Nova 10 SE from the monthly to quarterly updates section. These two models will get security improvements but once in three months, just like the Mate 40 Pro handset.

The good news is that Huawei has added the MatePad 11.5-inch S to the list. From now onwards, the newly launched tablets will receive monthly security patches and improvement updates to provide a reliable experience to users.

EMUI 14.2.0.145 accompanies the newly released July 2024 security patch for P50 Pocket users. This improvement package fixes 6 systems and 28 third-party library defects. It also safeguards users’ data from malicious threats or privacy exploits.

In case you have not received this update or the EMUI 14 firmware yet, then don’t worry. The company is rolling out the major version in a phased rollout. Hence, it may take some time to cover all the eligible units in the global regions.

With this update, the company has added one more device to the “EMUI 14.2 received” list. However, some eligible devices are still left to obtain this major offering and enjoy a new phase, interactive themes, as well as productive features on board.

Also, it is yet to confirm if Huawei will include more phones and old flagship models to the EMUI 14.2 device list in the time ahead or not. If not all, the company should consider at least the very efficient Mate 40 Pro and P40 Pro in this case!

This is the third batch joining the stable HarmonyOS 4.2 update pool this month. Huawei has already served the prominent firmware to many of its premium handsets like the Mate 60 series, Pocket 2 foldable, Mate 50/40 series, P50 lineup, and more.

Last week, the company also released the official HarmonyOS 4.2 build for its mid-rangers. The list counts Nova 11 SE, Nova 10 SE, Nova 9 SE, Enjoy 60 Pro, and more.

Now the company is bringing the stable HarmonyOS 4.2 update for 30 Huawei and Honor phones. The update is rolling out with the 4.2.0.120 version.

Devices like the Mate 30 series, Mate X2, P40 lineup, Nova 8, and 7 series are aligned in this list. The tech maker has brought the latest benefits to some old Honor devices and MatePad tablets to increase their life span and make them more reliable.

Huawei often adds and removes its devices from the security patch rollout list, as per their life span. For instance, the June 2024 security patch list contains the newly launched Pura 70 series smartphones and some brand-new MatePad tablets.

But the company has removed the Mate 40 Pro and P40 Pro models from the list. Huawei might serve these models with minor improvements or system patches in the time ahead. Although constant update distribution now seems uncertain for them.

The company recently announced the Huawei HarmonyOS 4.2 upgrade via its official ‘My Huawei’ channel on Weibo. More than 180 devices are eligible to obtain the newest version and experience advanced features and improvements on board.

It is worth mentioning that Huawei has divided the HarmonyOS 4.2 upgrade plan into two parts. The first already counts public beta activity for the top-end models of the family such as Pocket 2 foldable, Mate 60, P60 lineups, new tablets, and more.

Another part of the upgrade includes mid-range smartphones and other device categories like smartwatches, earbuds, smart TVs, and more. The details reveal that these products will fetch the newest version between April to June this year.

EMUI 14 beta software update is arriving with the 14.0.0.136 version. It further carries a huge software package that weighs around 6.21GB and you should have enough storage space in your eligible Huawei phone to download the latest firmware.

Huawei has seeded numerous additions to the EMUI 14 beta software update but it is currently limited to the European market and will soon reach more regions.

New Features:

The changelog shows new themes including Magazine and Interactive subjects to offer an intuitive user interface. It enables Huawei phone holders to choose from at least six different font styles to customize the clock on the lock screen.

Another effective addition is the Live View which keeps you updated on the status of important apps or events in real-time. One can tap on the window in the top notification bar to see more details regarding the particular operation.

Huawei has also integrated features like SuperHub and Ark Engine for a smoother user experience related to your data, files, and other media content.

Starting this month, Huawei has surprised its global users by initiating the EMUI 14 beta program in Germany. Thereafter, the tech giant has introduced the respective software testing activity to more regions like Latin America, Romania, and Russia.

As of now, the company brought in the first EMUI 14 beta rollout on the surface, starting in Europe, and will bring it to more regions in the coming weeks.

It is worth mentioning that the EMUI 14 beta update will approach these devices gradually. Hence you may not immediately receive the respective firmware. Don’t panic and wait patiently for the new version to reach your Huawei handset.

You can even try downloading this software update by visiting Settings > then tap on System & updates > from there you can open Software updates. However, it may take some to reach the server and fetch the latest firmware version.
