The post EMUI 14.2 makes multitasking fun with Split-Screen Combo appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>Split-screen refers to dividing the phone’s screen into two parts. Doing so manages two operations at the same time. Thanks to EMUI 14.2, operating several tasks is now a matter of seconds. Just a few swipes and your multitasking platform is ready.
EMUI 13 introduced a Multi-Window feature last year. This capability allows users to open applications in split screens or a floating window as per their preference.
Users can even switch between split-screen and floating window, drag and drop between apps with multi-window, or remove an application. But EMUI 14.2 has made this section more useful for Huawei users with a “Split-Screen Combo” mode.
From the name, the Split-Screen Combo enables users to save the built split-screen combinations. So next time when you want to work on the same two apps, you don’t have to create the split-screen or floating window section again.
Users can easily access this combination from the home screen. But before that, Huawei device owners must know how to save the split-screen combination.
Create a split screen on the device. Open an app in full view, swipe in from left/right, and hold. A Multi-Window Dock will appear on the side. Touch and hold the app you want to use and drag it out of the dock to form a split screen mode.
In between the split-screen, you may see a three-dot icon. Tap on it to access controls like “Save Combo” and “Flip top/bottom”. Tapping on the first option will save the split-screen combination on the home screen for easy access.
How to find it? Users may see a combination icon on the home screen. Tap on that icon to resume your work whenever required. To exit this mode, drag the three-dot icon (between the two split-screen windows) to the edge of the screen.
Thus, users can make multitasking fun and more creative within a few clicks. However, to run this feature on your Huawei phone, you must have the EMUI 14.2 software version.

]]>The post Huawei released Multi-Window Screenshot Patent appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>According to the patent abstract for Huawei Multi-Window Screenshot technology, the company has filled it in 2020 on the 4th of July. This Huawei patent was published with CN113552986A identification number under the title “Multi-window Screen Capture Method, Device and Equipment”.
The document description shows when a user wants to capture a screenshot of a multi-window, the device will first capture the preview image of the screen. Simultaneously, the window split button also appears on the screen.
Afterward, users will be able to select the desired area to take the screenshot. In other words, users can convert the first preview image into multiple second preview images corresponding to each window. Hereafter they can select the screen area they want to take a screenshot of.
Moreover, the process will not only become more modest but the flexibility and efficiency of multi-window screenshots will also enhance. In addition, users can also manage the screenshots of blocked windows during multitasking.
The multi-window mode for Huawei devices was first introduced with EMUI 10.1 software rollout that has brought intensive multi-tasking users experience. This feature made it easier to use split screens or in a floating window in devices.
Overall, it is designed to run multiple apps in split-screen mode, so users can improve workflow and become more productive when multitasking. With time, the company also enhanced this function giving more features and capabilities.
Although the company holds multiple patents in different fields, smartphones are its main working area. From connectivity capabilities to foldable devices, it’s currently working on several patent technologies that are mentioned below.

]]>The post EMUI 10.1 vs EMUI 11: Experience New Multi-Window appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>Last September, Huawei released the next version of its Android-based mobile operating system, EMUI 11. This major upgrade comes with a bunch of new features and brings improvements for existing ones to improve an extraordinary user experience.
At the moment, the EMUI 11 version is rolling out for compatible Huawei devices in the home ground as well as in the global market. And, the Multi-window mode is one of the features of EMUI 11.
New Multi-Window allows you to open apps in a floating window for multitasking. You can relocate the floating window to the desired location or minimize it to a floating bubble for easier access later.
Here you can check the changes and improvements done by the company in the multi-window mode with the latest EMUI build.
If you open a floating window from the sidebar, you will see a new minimize icon added next to the maximize icon on the top-left corner after updating to EMUI 11. By clicking this minimize icon, users easily minimize the current app floating ball named App Bubble on the side.
The App Bubble of EMUI 11 is stationed at both sides of the smartphone screen, so users are free to reopen any app windows quickly with a simple click on the App Bubble.
While you are running multiple tasks on the device, you can make the most out of the App Bubble feature to improve your multitasking experience with the swift switch and checking on tasks.
By clicking the App Bubble, the screen sidebar will be expanded and display the minimized tasks of all hidden floating windows. Just select the desired window to work on. If you want to work on another task, just click the App Bubble again for quick selection and switch between your apps.
When you finish a task, you can either close the floating windows one by one or drag the App Bubble to the Recycle Bin to remove them all at once.
Many users were desperately wished that they could adjust the size of floating windows. With EMUI 11, the company has fulfilled this wish of users, and the floating window is now capable of size adjustments.
Users are now free to adjust the window size in all directions by pressing any point of the bottom part of the window until the borderline becomes bold. Alternatively, you can also press and hold onto the short horizontal line at the top to drag and reposition the floating Window.
