Huawei is rolling out the HarmonyOS 4.2 software update for the MatePad 11 2023 tablet global users. The new firmware contains various useful changes and interesting features. These additions to the device will ease the day-to-day operations.

It seems Huawei has started speeding up HarmonyOS 4.2 rollout in the global market. The company recently served this software treatment to the MatePad Air. Now it is bringing new features and enhancements for another efficient tablet.

Global Huawei MatePad 11 2023 users can identify the HarmonyOS 4.2 update with the 4.2.0.210 version. Ensure to have sufficient storage in your device as the firmware weighs 5.55GB. We also suggest a stable Wi-Fi connection for installation.

The changelog unlocks new magazine themes that allow you to choose a portrait picture and match it with the wallpaper. Users can also keep an eye on the app’s activity via the Live View feature. SuperHub 2.0 makes file-sharing much easier.

On the other hand, Ark Engine ensures smoother animations, preventing lags on the tablet. You can check all the features and enhancements below.

Magazine Themes

  • The Art Star theme lets you choose a portrait photo you like and a wallpaper to match.

Live View

  • Keeps you up to date on the status of important events by displaying timely notifications on the lock screen, home screen, and more.
  • Users will also see a notification window pinned to the top left of the home screen.

SuperHub

  • Supports dragging and dropping content between apps and devices. You can tap and hold defined text and images, then drag and drop them to SuperHub to store them temporarily or send them in bulk.

Ark Engine

  • Provides a smoother user experience with the upgraded Ark Engine.

HarmonyOS 4.2 is still missing for flagship tablets like MatePad Pro 13.2, MatePad Pro 11, and more. Although the company could soon expand the reach of the new upgrade to eligible devices in the global market.

Huawei is improving its MatePad tablets with every new generation and these products may soon gain PC-level productivity. Yes, a new leak hints that the next-gen tablets could introduce more PC-level apps to enrich the user experience.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus notes that Huawei will likely add more PC-level apps to its future MatePad tablets to increase their productivity. This will enable users to work more efficiently on their tablets, giving them the feel of a smart notebook.

PC-level applications can easily meet consumers’ demands related to heavy or complex tasks. Huawei uses a special PC software engine for such apps, allowing them to run effectively on tablets and even foldable smartphones.

A good example of a PC-level app is the WPS Office. It is a collection of office-based applications to create word processors, presentations,  spreadsheets, and more.

WPS Office has also launched the native HarmonyOS app version which claims to be faster, smarter, and safer. The new application will provide a more convenient experience to its users than before without being a risk to their privacy and security.

The respective app already supports many MatePad tablets. However, the Chinese tech giant launch more such applications in the future to offer a better and more reliable experience on tablets.

The PC-level applications could also come to the existing tablets in the time ahead. Other details on this matter are currently unknown.

Huawei has introduced several tablets this year. The new launches count MatePad Pro 12.2, MatePad 12 X (Air 2024), MatePad 11.5 S, MatePad SE 11 2024, and more. It also announced new commercial tablets like the Qingyun C7.

At the same time, the company is defeating its rivals in the Chinese tablet market every quarter. The OEM shipped 20.5 million tablets in the second quarter of this year and earned a market share of 26%. This increases its annual growth by 66%.

Meanwhile, changes like PC-level apps and productivity for the upcoming MatePad tablets will boost Huawei’s shares in the Chinese tablet market, giving a tougher spot to Apple iPads.

Huawei could introduce a new MatePad Pro 13.2 PaperMatte Edition in the upcoming weeks. As the term suggests, the new model will likely give a soothing and eye-strain-free visual experience to users. It may also have large storage options.

The Chinese tech giant seemingly has a bunch of tablet products to launch this year. After unveiling two flagship-like devices, the company may bring a new PaperMatte Edition to the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet later this month or in November.

As noted by tipster @FixedFocus, Huawei could add a PaperMatte model to the MatePad Pro 13.2. The OEM may launch this edition alongside Nova 13 series.

PaperMatte is an effective display solution that significantly reduces the reflection and sunlight interference. It offers better, brighter, and clearer visuals even under sunlight. The overall experience is more convenient than a regular tablet.

The respective display tech also provides paper-like smooth and sleek visuals. Users can easily read books or watch videos for hours with less eye strain.

Further details reveal that this edition will have large storage options. A few netizens sarcastically speculated that the memory version could be 24GB RAM and a 2-3TB option. But an accurate guess seems to be the 16GB + 1TB storage variant.

MatePad Pro 13.2

The tablet has a dimension of 196.1 x 289.1 x 5.5mm and weighs 580gm. It equips a 13.2-inch Flexible OLED screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels, 262 PPI, 94% screen-to-body ratio, 1000 nits peak brightness, 1.07 billion colors, and a P3 wide color gamut.

Huawei today released a new MatePad Pro 12.2 global teaser that flaunts the dual-layer OLED screen. This is the first tablet to introduce Tandem OLED PaperMatte display. It claims to offer a durable and highly efficient viewing experience.

Tandem OLED refers to an advanced display solution that consists of more than one layer of light-emitting slates. These are overlapped on each other and manage the visuals individually. As a result, users get brighter and more efficient visual effects.

Dual-layer OLED not only enhances visuality but also increases the screen’s lifespan. It lessens the power consumption by 30% and further helps the smartphone or tablet’s battery last longer compared to the single-OLED screen devices.

Apple was the first to launch a dual-layer OLED tablet iPad Pro 2024. Later, Honor joined this pool with the Magic 6 Ultimate Edition and RSR Porsche Design models.

Huawei launched its first double-layer OLED tablet last month in China and now it is bringing the device for worldwide consumers. Looking into the new global teaser, the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 will offer a redefined and brighter visual experience.

The teaser hypes how the Tandem OLED PaperMatte solution eases the screen’s content for users. The colors seem more vibrant and the text appears clearer.

PaperMatte, on the other hand, gives you a smoother and richer paper-like feel while running the stylus through the screen. Thus, users will observe a more fluent and faster functioning of the M-Pencil on the flagship tablet.

Key features of the MatePad Pro 12.2 include a 2.8K high-end resolution, a dual rear camera system with a 13MP main shooter, and an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens. Users can collaborate with teammates on virtual meetings using an 8MP front-facing lens.

Upgraded HarmonyOS 4.2 with new features would be another addition to the device. Whether the company introduces new AI features with this tablet for global users would be worth looking forward to.

Huawei Global Innovative Product launch event will happen on September 19, 2024, and the company is ready to bring various devices for consumers. It’s time to have a look at the flagship products that will remain in the spotlight on September 19.

Ahead of the conference, we’re here to give an insight into what devices will launch at the new Huawei Global launch event on September 19. Let’s begin the exploration.

Huawei Watch GT 5 Series

Watch GT 5 series will likely be the headline of the event for its amazing design and features. The device has qualified for various certificates and is ready to make its way on the consumer platform. It may be similar to the predecessor to some extent.

The highlight of this wearable will be the advanced TruSense system that will open the doors of impressive health capabilities. It will deliver more precise health reports, faster assessments, and a stable experience in workouts to consumers.

Note that Huawei has teased the device on X but without a name. This is an interesting way to excite consumers about the upcoming model. You can learn more about the wearable HERE.
