A new video leak indicates that Samsung One UI 7.0 will bring smoother animations than ever. It seems the company has delayed the upcoming OS version for good. Users may find iPhone-like fluidity with the next One UI software upgrade.

X tipster @UniverseIce dropped a video showing smoother animations of the One UI 7.0. The clip is more likely a screen recording done on the Galaxy S25/Plus phone.

Note that the clip has been deleted from YouTube. But another tipster has managed to get it. Tap HERE to check the smoother animations of the new software build.

Although the interesting part of this clip is the fluid transitions. The overall motions like swipe gestures as well as the opening and closing of apps appeared faster and more stable. Users will probably have the best animation experience with One UI 7.

It doesn’t show any lag or glitches while opening/closing apps. Switching between apps is much easier and faster than ever. Just a simple touch and users will see quicker responses.

Some applications that were indulged in this animation testing are Gallery, Settings, Phone, and Camera. These appeared in redesigned icons. The Weather widget also gets a makeover with a thinner shape than the previous major upgrade.

It’s just the beginning and Samsung could make ever better changes with the stable version.

Xiaomi will likely debut HyperOS 2.0 this month and the new OS may bring improved animations and network performance. A new leak suggests that the company will offer a seamless connection to its device owners with the newest software upgrade.

Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu says that HyperOS 2.0 will deliver enhanced animations and network performance. The company has not only worked on the UI segment but also improved the network functioning to offer the best software experience.

The leak specifies an “active intelligent network” for HyperOS 2.0. It could mean that the company will improve the interconnection between devices. Xiaomi may adopt AI algorithms this time to maintain a stable connection between multiple devices.

Active Intelligent network further refers to reliable and stronger cellular signals in devices. It could maintain a good signal despite bad weather or other issues. Things are uncertain but we can expect better network performance with HyperOS 2.0.

Other than network, the tipster hinted at the animation effects. HyperOS 2 will likely bring more upgraded animations than ever before. These might be smoother, faster, and more fluent than the previous software versions.

Xiaomi phone users often complained about the sluggish animations. They used to compare the software with ColorOS 15 and other Android skins. But this time, Xiaomi may resolve the animation and lagging problems with HyperOS 2.0.

A recent HyperOS 2.0 leak demonstrated a brand-new unlock animation. The new addition claims to offer real-time light effects, gradient transitions, and brighter colors on the screen. You can check the complete details of the new animation below.

Huawei and Samsung are great tech vendors in the smartphone industry but when it comes to UI smoothness, the former is two steps ahead. In the race for a unique, personalized, and easy user interface, Huawei is leading while Samsung is lagging.

Samsung has been ruling the Android world with its high-profile Galaxy S series for years. Even though the company didn’t make dynamic shifts in the design, it kept upgrading the device with powerful Qualcomm and its self-developed Exynos chips.

The South Korean firm used AI features as another weapon to maintain its position in the global smartphone market. Galaxy S24 series is the latest example of smart AI features. It’s something that Huawei lacks in its overseas smartphone units.

But one thing where Samsung lags far behind Huawei is software and UI smoothness. While the former is still struggling to make its One UI more efficient and fluent, the latter seems to have mastered the field. How so? Let’s find it out in detail.

Samsung has been trying to improve its UI animations for the past three years. The company was said to enhance its software smoothness with One UI 5.0 (Android 13).

Test: HarmonyOS 3.0 vs One UI 5.0

Although Huawei pushed off the company in this race with HarmonyOS 3.0. The software dynamically responded to swipe-up gestures and other animation scenarios over One UI 5.0 during a test. It even surpassed the iOS 16 operating system.

On the other hand, One UI 5.0 gave sluggish UI outcomes with slow and non-fluent animations. Even though the company tried to improve this problem with One UI 6 and other versions, it persisted even on flagship phones like the Galaxy S series.

Animation Issues with Flagship Devices:

Users of Galaxy S23 handsets reported last year that they continue to face jittery animations on several third-party apps. The UI isn’t smooth enough and often lags while performing quick gestures or other important operations on the device.

“…All I’m seeing is micro stutters all over. Even YouTube is doing it for me now, so not only 3rd party apps. I came from an iPhone 11 Pro Max, due to 60Hz it definitely wasn’t as smooth. But it was ‘smoother’ since there were no weird lag issues like S23.” – said a Reddit user.

The problem continues…

A reliable tipster @UniverseIce recently said that Samsung is the only brand unable to achieve trouble-free system animations. While scrolling or swiping on One UI 6, the animation either cuts off in the middle or the app icons suddenly disappear.

Many users facing similar issues agreed with the tipster’s point. Despite AI features and sky-touching priced phones, Samsung disappointed users with UI smoothness. The problem might not have affected every Samsung phone user, yet it is there.

Huawei EMUI software and UI

Huawei, on the flip side, is making huge leaps in UI customizations and smoother animations. Whether we talk about EMUI 14 or HarmonyOS 4.2 the company has made its software much more fluent than any other OS in the current scenario.

A huge credit goes to Huawei’s self-developed Ark Engine. The tech giant has used a beneficial component that significantly reduces lagging and enhances smoothness. Compared to One UI, the latest EMUI 14.2 build offers faster image loading, smoother motions, and quicker app launches in Huawei smartphones.

Regardless of numerous apps running in the background, the software responds to the user’s operation in no time, without ruining the visual experience.

HarmonyOS NEXT vs One UI 7

Huawei is now focusing on HarmonyOS NEXT. The stable version is yet to be released. But ahead of that, many tipsters exploring the testing builds said that HarmonyOS NEXT is far smoother than other OS like One UI, iOS, and more.

Samsung is also working on improving the animation part with One UI 7. But whether it will be able to resolve the previous issues completely is still a question.

Not only the software, but Huawei is bringing smoothness to the next level with HarmonyOS native apps. Compared to other Android apps, these applications will be 20-30% smoother. Thus, Huawei seems ready to raise the competition for Samsung in UI smoothness.

HarmonyOS NEXT is creating a wave of excitement among users and a tipster has leveled up this feel by detailing the Developer Preview 2 of this software. The input reveals that HarmonyOS NEXT animation effects are better than Android.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus says that HarmonyOS NEXT is one step ahead of Android in animation effects. While the firm has not officially announced the DP2, the blogger shares his experience with the new development build and its interesting capabilities.

Details reveal that ‘Developer options’ of HarmonyOS NEXT are quite similar to the Android. Yet the former outperforms the latter in many fields. The tipster adds that Huawei’s self-developed OS is true and independent without Linux or AOSP.

It’s not the first time that the HarmonyOS NEXT has been praised by tipsters for its smoothness. Several early inputs say that the next OS is fluent, more seamless, and way smoother for smartphones and tablets over its previous versions.

Editor’s Choice:

The tipster further states that HarmonyOS NEXT contains powerful AI features but they are still unknown and may appear with upcoming builds or the consumer beta.

Another good change appears as advertising reduction to a greater extent. Thus no more interruptions while operating applications or browsing sites on the internet.

Other features will likely include an optimized user interface for phones and tablets, enhanced user security, and upgraded interconnectivity aspects between devices.

Is HarmonyOS NEXT safe?

Huawei devices are currently running on the HarmonyOS 4.2 version. Before jumping on the ‘NEXT’ major upgrade, many users might have the fear of losing their data.

Although the information reveals that Huawei offers a useful capability called ‘Cloud Virtual Phone’ (Cloud Phone Host). To use this feature, all you need is a standard network connection. None of the device services is transmitted and remains safe.

From the name, the feature helps sync data of the device and store it in a temporary space for about a month, thereafter proceeds towards the upgrade.

This will ultimately collect your original data from the device and save it, reducing this risk of data elimination. Note that the company has already released this feature earlier but might improve it with HarmonyOS NEXT. Although the input is uncertain for now.

The Chinese phone maker will release the HarmonyOS NEXT beta on June 21 and share more details on its impressive features.

EMUI 14.2 made a surprising debut with the Huawei Pura 70 series and accompanies a range of exciting features, but something that will mainly catch your attention for this new software version is its smoother and unexpectedly faster animations.

Huawei already tweaked the user interface segment in the EMUI 14. The company has integrated an Ark Engine that improves the animations of apps and makes them quick, smooth, as well as responsive towards users’ tasks or other operations.

Although EMUI 14.2 aims to take these animations to the next level, with smoother and faster results. Hence you will feel a magical experience throughout your device.

Three major changes to notice in the EMUI 14.2 animations part:

  1. Image Loading
  2. Smoother Motions
  3. Faster App Launches

Instant loading of images

With EMUI 14.2, Huawei enhanced the motion aspect for many tasks. Loading of images in the Album app has become much faster and more instant than ever. Just swipe and all your favorite snaps will appear right in front of you in no time.

Although, EMUI 12 has a lot of new features but this Huawei software is especially noted with its new animation effects that bring a more natural way of sensing the user interface and elements that you touch on the phone’s screen.

According to the information, the EMUI 12 animation effects are inspired by realistic gravity and magnet motion design to produce the celestial object-like effect. Every interaction with the UI feels and looks much smoother and more vibrant.

If talk about the details, the design is just a copy of the HarmonyOS operating system, which is a very good sign for the consumers. Because the Chinese tech maker wants to keep the bar settled between the Chinese version of the software and this Android-based EMUI version.

For example, the new drag down to refresh animations has been refreshed as compared to the EMUI 11. The company has also brought in new sliding as well as swiping animations for the consumers. Similarly, the system app transition and animations have been refreshed which looks absolutely awesome.
