Huawei Mate 70 series still has time to go official and Honor is already seeing this lineup as the “strongest competitor”. One of the executives recently mentioned that Huawei’s upcoming flagship product would be the toughest rival in the market.

Zhao Ming – the CEO of Honor attended an exclusive interview after the Magic 7 series launch event. During the interrogation, a reporter asked if the company sees any biggest competitor in the fierce flagship smartphone competition. “Is it Mate 70?”

Ming replied that Huawei Mate 70 feels like the strongest rival at present. The executive said he doesn’t doubt the respective phone’s potential to rule the market.

He added that Honor is still growing and it wouldn’t be right to talk about rivals this early. The company only aims to develop better devices and the rest of the decision is in consumers’ hands.

“Huawei Mate 70 is the strongest competitor of all brands, there is no doubt about that. …we’re still growing and it is too early to talk about competitors. We must do our best and let consumers recognize our products.” – Zhao Ming.

The Honor CEO implied that the Huawei Mate 70 could be the toughest competitor in the market. The flagship series will enter the real world by next month.

Zhao mentioned that Honor has been working hard for the past few years to prove itself. Yet, it still sees certain doubts on R&D capabilities and the ability to innovate. The question “Can we develop better after being separated from Huawei” persists.

The CEO meant that Honor had to take major steps and implement new changes in terms of innovation. The company has introduced many useful solutions for its devices. For instance, the Qinghai Lake battery, Eagle Eye camera, and more.

“We relied on products and hard work. In this process, I think it is more important for Honor to be the best version of itself.” – said Zhao Ming.

Mate 70 Series

Huawei will launch four models with the Mate 70 series: Standard, Pro, Pro+, and RS Ultimate Design. The lineup will bring major upgrades and could be the first to equip a new Kirin 5nm chip as well as HarmonyOS NEXT software system.

Other changes will be visible as enhanced photography experience, faster touch responses, improved video recording, as well as an upgraded fingerprint unlock solution.

Honor CEO – Zhao Ming recently appeared in an interview where he said that the company inherits some of the best parts of Huawei. These useful capabilities will help the company to make innovative products and remain at the top of the market.

Zhao says that the Honor team was born out of Huawei. Despite the firm no longer with its major branch, it still has Huawei’s magic in its veins and thought process.

The company also acquired Huawei’s culture, values, R&D capabilities, and innovation genes. When combined, these attributes help Honor to step ahead with better creativity and efficiency to make ‘better than before’ products for its customers.

Ming further recalled that Honor parted ways with Huawei in 2020 due to the U.S. sanctions. This action made its market share drop by 3%, the lowest point.

“When Honor became independent, we faced some challenges. But the Honor team was born out of Huawei, and we have inherited the best parts of Huawei, namely its culture, values, and R&D and innovation genes” – said Ming.

In terms of challenges, the initial problem was to make devices with controlled-price and innovative methods. The second was to regain its shares and stand as a separate firm in the market. Honor CEO says that without any hesitation, the tech maker chose the path of innovation and breakthrough.

It is worth mentioning that Honor has climbed the top spot in the first quarter of this year with impressive shipment and market share. Magic 6 series has a large amount of credit for this success. Now the company plans to introduce its first flip-flop foldable in the market by May 2024.

Honor CEO – Zhao Ming recently attended an interview where he illustrated the powerful satellite communication technology of Magic 6 Pro. At the same time, the CEO said that the Honor brand has now become quite different from Huawei.

Previously, Honor had been a subsidiary brand of Huawei. Honor’s line of products enabled the HarmonyOS developer to compete with mid-range device brands in China and the global market.

Although, the US restrictions led Huawei to sell Honor to a Chinese business group in November 2020. These actions staggered Honor’s management and forged the company to begin work from scratch. Yet, the tech maker made noteworthy progress in recent years and efficiently stepped on the road to success.

During the interview, when the host asked Zhao Ming about the differences between Huawei and Honor, he said that despite Honor being a big branch of Huawei’s family tree, the brand has made a separate identity from its parent industry.

Honor brand different Huawei

Honor still bears the core values and spirit of Huawei. Yet, different scenarios, environments, and tech-pack products have brought major changes to the company. Concluding the topic, Ming said ‘We are not Huawei anymore’.

On the competition matter, Zhao Ming cited that the CEOs of both Huawei and Honor will fairly compete with each other in the business market. It will be a wholesome battleship between gentlemen, where they will praise the good points while going back and forth on product marketing.

Honor is all set to unveil the Magic 6 series on January 11 and meanwhile, the company’s CEO – Zhao Ming has demonstrated how the rock-solid satellite communication features work on the Magic 6 Pro smartphone. The tech giant has released a new video, highlighting the key aspects of the approaching devices.

As per the preview clip, Honor CEO – Zhao Ming showcases the new satellite communication features on Magic 6 Pro and defines how the latest addition will be a significant tool for consumers when they are stuck in low network conditions.

Describing the functions, Zhao Ming turns on the Tiantong Satellite feature on the Magic 6 Pro handset to search and connect with satellite signals. After the appropriate connectivity, he initiates satellite calls to show the accurate outcomes.

On the flip side, Ming added that one can send satellite messages after the successful connection takes place. The executive further mentions that Magic 6 Pro directly connects to high-orbit satellites that are 36000km away.

Eventually, this lets the device cover more than 99% of the land area, enabling users to make calls or send messages even in no-network areas. At the same time, it also boosts the speed and allows you to make longer calls.

Previously, a Weibo tipster conducted a test between Mate 60 Pro and Magic 6 Pro to test satellite communication technology, and the results were quite surprising. Honor Magic 6 Pro defeated Huawei’s flagship with faster and better capabilities.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro:

The top-end model uses China’s Tiantong-1 satellite system for its satellite calling features. It is an independent program that consists of three segments: space, ground, and user terminals. Three of these remain in orbit to offer efficient services.

Magic 6 Pro:

It seems as if Honor is using the same satellite system for effective performance. The plus point is Honor’s self-developed rock-solid satellite communication features. With the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and robust satellite functionalities, the Magic 6 series could be a tough contender for the Mate 60 lineup.
