Huawei Mate 70 series still has time to go official and Honor is already seeing this lineup as the “strongest competitor”. One of the executives recently mentioned that Huawei’s upcoming flagship product would be the toughest rival in the market.

Zhao Ming – the CEO of Honor attended an exclusive interview after the Magic 7 series launch event. During the interrogation, a reporter asked if the company sees any biggest competitor in the fierce flagship smartphone competition. “Is it Mate 70?”

Ming replied that Huawei Mate 70 feels like the strongest rival at present. The executive said he doesn’t doubt the respective phone’s potential to rule the market.

He added that Honor is still growing and it wouldn’t be right to talk about rivals this early. The company only aims to develop better devices and the rest of the decision is in consumers’ hands.

“Huawei Mate 70 is the strongest competitor of all brands, there is no doubt about that. …we’re still growing and it is too early to talk about competitors. We must do our best and let consumers recognize our products.” – Zhao Ming.

The Honor CEO implied that the Huawei Mate 70 could be the toughest competitor in the market. The flagship series will enter the real world by next month.

Zhao mentioned that Honor has been working hard for the past few years to prove itself. Yet, it still sees certain doubts on R&D capabilities and the ability to innovate. The question “Can we develop better after being separated from Huawei” persists.

The CEO meant that Honor had to take major steps and implement new changes in terms of innovation. The company has introduced many useful solutions for its devices. For instance, the Qinghai Lake battery, Eagle Eye camera, and more.

“We relied on products and hard work. In this process, I think it is more important for Honor to be the best version of itself.” – said Zhao Ming.

Mate 70 Series

Huawei will launch four models with the Mate 70 series: Standard, Pro, Pro+, and RS Ultimate Design. The lineup will bring major upgrades and could be the first to equip a new Kirin 5nm chip as well as HarmonyOS NEXT software system.

Other changes will be visible as enhanced photography experience, faster touch responses, improved video recording, as well as an upgraded fingerprint unlock solution.

Honor Devices Corporation CMO – Jiang Hairong finally responds to the ongoing comparison report of the Pura 70 Ultra high-speed capture and Magic 6 Eagle Eye feature. After the question raised by Huawei’s Bruce Lee, Honor made its statement.

Jiang Hairong says that both devices have different merits when it comes to imaging capabilities. While the Magic 6 series acts brilliantly in some cases, the Pura 70 series models perform better in others. Both devices are working perfectly in their circles.

Describing the Eagle Eye feature, the CMO says that the company has introduced the respective imaging function with the Magic 5 lineup. Thereafter, Honor kept upgrading the camera technology for a more efficient and excellent photography experience.

Hairong further said that in the making of innovative products, we learn many new things and try to compete with masters to improve ourselves for better progress.

“On this road, we are not afraid to compete with experts, learn from each other’s talents, and make progress together.” – says Jiang Hairong.

It’s true that even though both the Pura 70 series and the Magic 6 lineup have similar camera concepts, the results vary. The former runs on the AI computational mechanism to capture fast-moving objects whereas, the latter uses technical factors.

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra camera bump including the telescopic (retractable) lens is not only incredible but also super durable, and a test has confirmed this point. It’s time to check how much weight the new ‘retractable’ sensor can resist in real time.

A Weibo tipster @YuZhongguo has recently checked the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra telescopic lens durability via a test. The results show that the flagship phone has an amazing pressure-bearing ability, which is almost unbeatable by other rivals.

The blogger initially kept the Mate X2 foldable on Huawei Pura 70 Ultra’s retractable lens. Note that the folding device weighs around 295 grams. In the next stage, Yu placed a weight bar worth 50 grams, gradually increasing the pressure on the module.

At the final stage, the tipster kept two more weight bars (20g + 10g) and waited. To this point, the device’s retractable (telescopic) camera lens lost its resistance.

Thus, the lens holds up a total weight of 365 grams (295 + 75 grams). But as soon as the tipster kept an additional 10g bar, the camera bump no longer carried it.

“Some bloggers are curious about what load-bearing capacity the Pura 70 Ultra has. It’s so strong, that when I put a mobile phone on it and added some weight, it was able to hold up! But after adding a certain weight, it can no longer be carried.” – said the tipster.

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra itself weighs around 226 grams and its camera is capable of holding at least 365 grams. Thus it confirms lens mechanism’s durability is perfect.

The Chinese tech giant has imposed a sophisticated telescopic mechanism on the Pura 70 Ultra’s main camera. It eventually comes out to capture the image, reflecting a premium-level photography experience and making you feel like a Pro.

This mechanism smoothly expands and contracts and is capable of capturing the most beautiful moments.

After the launch of Huawei Pura 70 Series, some netizens compared the Ultra variant’s super high-speed capturing with the Honor Magic 6 Eagle Eye feature. In response, one of the senior executives at Huawei has reportedly questioned this scenario.

The CTO of Huawei Device Business Group – Bruce Lee shared a post on WeChat saying that the Honor Eagle Eye feature demands extreme indoor light brightness, or else it may lead to poor image quality. But there is no such as with Pura 70 Ultra.

Reports say that Bruce Lee mentioned more such scenarios in the past, yet the company simply avoided them. Lee cited that he questioned Honor last time for its high-frequency dimming, but the firm didn’t respond and became quiet later.

“I have seen many former colleagues posting comparisons between the Eagle Eye snapshots of a certain model and the flash photography effects of the Pura 70 Ultra in their circle of friends. As long as you don’t deliberately increase the indoor lighting brightness, the image quality has deteriorated to the point. How dare you compare before posting it? Why don’t you ask your R&D classmates first?”

To this, a few netizens responded that Bruce Lee has scolded appropriately as Honor still has a lot of room for imaging improvements. Weibo tipster @DirectorShiGuan says that both devices are perfect at their place and doing well in achieving effective results.

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra vs Honor Eagle Eye Camera Feature

Pura 70 Ultra has a super high-speed flash shooting feature that captures moments at a speed of 300km/h. This is possible with the XD Motion engine that runs on AI algorithms. Whether it’s a speedy racing car or any other fast-moving object, far or near, the image appears clear, frozen, and wonderful.

Honor Eagle Eye Camera function relies on the millisecond-level capture algorithm. It reacts like a real eagle’s eye and locks its focus on the subject. As soon as the subject appears, it quickly snaps out the delicate moments irrespective of speed and distance.
