]]> Huawei has announced the official HarmonyOS NEXT upgrade plan for its devices alongside the rollout time. The new beta version is currently open for developers and pioneer users with flagship devices. Though it will soon reach other devices.

Yu Chengdong shared the details of the HarmonyOS NEXT upgrade. He cited that the company has initiated the developer beta testing for the top models. The tech maker will gradually cover devices and release stable HarmonyOS NEXT build in Q4 2024.

The Chinese OEM is recruiting developers and 3000 pioneer users at the moment. Hereafter, the company will begin consumer beta starting with premium handsets.

HarmonyOS NEXT upgrade plan Devices

Developers and Pioneer users can sign up for the current beta activity from June 21 to 28. The company will review the submitted applications from June 24 to July 09 and adjust the users depending on the log and nolog builds.

Note that developers whose apps are already present in the AppGallery will be prioritized in this activity. After the selection, Huawei will further notify developers as well as pioneer users via an official email or SMS.

Those participating in the developer beta version should take a backup of their data beforehand to avoid any loss. One can also roll back to the current version by visiting Settings > System > Developer Mode > System Rollback.

]]> Today, Honor has introduced the Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0 and confirmed its upgrade plan. The company has shared a huge list of devices that are eligible for the latest software version and will step into the beta testing phase in the time ahead.

According to the information, the Honor MagicOS 8.0 upgrade plan consists of 42 models including the Magic series, X series, number series, foldable phones, and tablets. Notably, this is the public beta listing which will be active from Jan 11 (tomorrow) to May 2024.

During this time, Honor will conduct public beta activities to test software for the respective smart devices. Once completed, the company will push the stable version for the listed handsets.

Honor MagicOS 8 upgrade plan

Honor will begin the public beta for the Magic 5 and 4 series from tomorrow. Apart from these handsets, Honor Tablet 9, MagicPad 13, and Honor V8 Pro will also participate in the public beta phase. The company is also serving advanced features to its old devices as well.

MagicOS 8.0 comes on the ground with a variety of interesting features such as spatial motion effect, magic ring, Magic Portal, Smart Capsule, and a bunch of improvements to the smart connectivity, performance, and visual experience.
