Huawei is leading the Chinese wearable market in Q3 2024, beating many of its rivals like Apple. The company has ranked first with a huge shipment of smartwatches in the market. It also holds the highest market share compared to others.

A new report by RUNTO Technology reveals the growth of the Chinese wearable market in Q3 2024. It listed the top five rankers and their progress in this report.

Inputs highlight that Huawei has topped the Chinese wearable market in Q3 2024. The company achieved 30.9% of the market share, 10% more than Apple.

The tech giant sold around 2.083 million units in the first three quarters of this year. The figure has ultimately increased the company’s year-on-year sales revenue by 23.5% and made it sit at the top of the Chinese smartwatch market.

Huawei has unveiled dynamic wearables this year alongside new color variants. Watch GT 5 series is the latest example and comes with the all-new TruSense system.

It is also the first to feature the HarmonyOS 5.0 software and smarter functionalities than its predecessors. These points helped the respective wearable models to grab consumers’ attention and support in the Chinese smartwatch market.

Huawei is gradually pacing in every subject, whether it’s smartphone, TV, or tablet. And the foldable category seems no exception to this theory. A new report shows that Huawei is highly dominating the Chinese foldable phone market in Q2 2024.

According to the CINNO research organization, Huawei has ranked first in the Q2 2024 Chinese foldable market. The company has scored the highest sales ranking among all its competitors. It pushed off rivals like OPPO, vivo, and Samsung in this race.

Inputs reveal that Huawei holds 35.2% shares in the sales ranking. This is the highest figure among all its opponents. The company didn’t make much progress compared to the last year but stepped forward by 1% YoY in the annual growth rate.

Perhaps Mate X5 is the main trophy holder in this segment. The satellite-based phone won consumers’ attraction and support for its fascinating features as well as capabilities. Pocket 2 has been another focal point for its beauty and iconic aspects.

Now Huawei has introduced the Nova Flip in the mid-range foldable line. It seems the tech giant will achieve more growth in Q3 2024. Apart from the Mate developer, the ranking shows other brands that contributed to the Chinese foldable market.

Vivo is in second place with 31.9% shares in the sales ranking. The details say that the company owns the largest increase in the market share, thanks to the new X Fold 3 series. OPPO follows third with an 11.1% share. However, it has declined by 5% YoY due to a gap in the foldable phone launch cycle.

Honor ranked fourth with 10.4% shares while Samsung appears in the fifth spot with 5.7% shares in the sales ranking. The listing further highlights that the overall market has increased by 125 YoY with an 11% month-on-month increase.

The Chinese foldable market has maintained this success for four quarters straight. It shipped around 2.62 million units in the second quarter of this year. A major credit of these sales goes to the growing demand for AI features in folding handsets.

AI-powered foldable phones hold at least 42% of the market share in Q2 2024. Meanwhile, users are also looking forward to thin folding devices and more innovation. It would be worth seeing how the Chinese foldable market leads in Q3 2024.

Huawei continues to have an influential mark in the Chinese cloud service market for Q1 2024. A new report sheds light on how the cloud sector is performing in China. It also highlights the changes that took place within the first three months of this year.

According to the report, Huawei remains the second-largest cloud service provider in the Chinese market for Q1 2024. The company obtained a market share of 19% in the fourth quarter of 2023 and has maintained this score this year as well.

But this time, the OEM has gathered more partners than the previous year. Huawei has teamed up with partners like iFlytek, PwC, and KBQuest to further expand its cloud services and benefits to more enterprises in the home ground.

New cooperations will also help in boosting the AI field. The Chinese tech giant is also keeping an eye on the global surface. Huawei says that its Cloud services completely adhere to the EU guidelines to avoid any interruption in business.

Alibaba Cloud is standing in the first position with a market share of 37%. The firm is planning to extend its business by setting up new data centers in South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, as well as Mexico. It even dropped the price of its products up to 25%, alluring consumers in the native region.

Tencent Cloud appears in the third rank with 16% of the market share. To win the race, Tencent brought down the cost value of its basic models by 70% last month. It seems the discount helped the OEM to enter the top 3 rankers list.

Canalys report shows that the overall cloud business in China increased by 20% YoY resulting in $9.2 billion in revenue. This is the amount for the first quarter where all the above-listed vendors covered 72% of the market with their products.

Huawei has entered the top three Chinese TWS earphone makers list in Q1 2024, according to a new report. The company sold a good number of audio wearables within the first three months of this year, overtaking its foreign rivals on the battlefield.

Canalys recently shared its analysis of the Q1 2024 Chinese TWS earphone market. The report highlights the overall progress of the audio wearables in mainland China.

The region has shipped a total of 19.5 million units in the first quarter of this year. This is a 21.3% YoY growth rate increase compared to the last year (same period). A major credit goes to some prime tech vendors and their feature-rich earbuds.

Huawei achieved second place among the top four rankers in the Q1 2024 Chinese TWS earphone sector. The tech giant has shipped 2.6 million units across the region. Out of the main categories, the ANC-based wearables covered 43% of the shipment.

The overall earbuds sales made the company stand at the second position with an annual progress of 55.5%. Huawei has also scored good grades in the global TWS earphone market for Q1 2024 and remained in the top 5 rankers.

Earlier this month, the same research firm noted that Huawei grew by 70% YoY in the worldwide TWS earphone ground. This has been the highest annual growth among all competitors. The company is doing well in both Chinese and global globals.

Canalys further stated that the FreeBuds SE 2 gained immense attention in the Chinese consumer market. Despite being entry-level devices, these earbuds maintained their value and witnessed rapid growth for four quarters straight.

Xiaomi topped this race with 3 million unit shipments. It obtained a 76.2% YoY increase and sold around 29% of the ANC-featured products. The firm has recently launched its open-ear headsets and promoted them under the “buy one get one free” scheme, which helped it to secure first rank.

Both Xiaomi and Huawei took over Apple. The American tech giant is in third place with a 2 million unit shipment and a 3.1% YoY increase. Out of the overall sales, the ANC product accounted for 75%. Edifier appeared in the fourth spot with 1.7 million units and a 12.0% YoY increase.

The Chinese earphone market is gradually reaching new heights. About 3.5 million more units have been shipped, compared to the last year. The situation may improve to a greater extent in the next quarter.

Huawei has overtaken Apple in the Q1 2024 Chinese PC market and is doing quite well, according to a new report. Despite a sharp decline in the overall PC franchise, the Chinese OEM continued to remain in high demand among laptop consumers.

Canalys has released a new report on the Chinese PC market for the first quarter of this year. The details show that the market dropped by 12% in PC shipments. The global side, on the other hand, has surprisingly turned to growth.

Huawei has outperformed Apple in almost every category and now it’s the turn of the Chinese PC market for Q1 2024. Regardless of a slowdown, the company shipped over 956 PCs and notebooks in the first three months of this year.

The tech giant made 12% of the market share this time, a 1% increment compared to the last year. Huawei is standing in second place following Lenovo at first with 2728 shipments and 34% of the market share. HP ranks third with 690 units in sales.

Asus is in the fourth position and Apple lands in fifth place with 475 PC and notebook shipments. The Mac producer achieved a 6% market share but declined by 21% in the annual growth rate. While the PC category didn’t do well in Q1 2024, the overall report for tech vendors wasn’t good. Yet, it hadn’t affected Huawei much.

Huawei appeared in the first position, followed by Apple. It obtained 29% of the market share which ultimately added 88% to its annual growth rate. Compared to the last year same period, the firm has exceeded by 10% this time.

Even though the American tech giant performed well by selling 1956 tablet units, it has declined by 3% YoY. The market share dropped to 27%, putting the firm in the second spot.

Xiaomi stands at the third block with a 35% annual growth rate and a 12% market share. Honor is in fourth place with a decline of 7% YoY and Lenovo didn’t make anything to its annual progress. You can check the details in the analysis sheet below.

Canalys analysts say that the Chinese PC market will likely rebound with 12% growth in 2025. Tablet shipments may also rise by 4% in both 2024 and 2025, mainly due to Chinese vendors. Analyst Emma Xu says:

“In an increasingly competitive landscape, innovation across hardware and software is crucial. For PC and tablet vendors alike, this will require identifying and capitalizing on localization opportunities and favorable AI innovation policies within the China market.”

Huawei HarmonyOS has been battling with Apple iOS for a long time in China and in Q1 2024, the Chinese tech maker surpassed its rival with a gradual increase. A recent report by Counterpoint shed light on the performance of smartphone OS(s).

The analytical data shows that HarmonyOS has performed quite well in both Chinese and global markets. Whereas, Apple iOS had significantly declined worldwide due to new features and GenAI capabilities that are available only for Android devices.

Further details show that HarmonyOS has doubled its shares on the global surface from 2 to 4%. Speaking of its home ground, the OS gained 17% shares in China.

Compared to the last quarter (Q4 2023), HarmonyOS shares increased by 1%. Yet it’s a remarkable growth and signifies more achievements for Huawei in the future.

This is the first time that Huawei HarmonyOS has overtaken Apple iOS in China (Q1 2024). Counterpoint highlights that this shift is due to the huge support of Chinese customers for native products rather than going for foreign-made devices.

Factors of Achievement

Huawei regained its position back in the Chinese smartphone market through the return of Kirin 5G chips with Mate 60 series. 5G adoption is another reason why consumers chose Huawei flagship models over other phones in China.

Due to 5G network support, the HarmonyOS adaptation jumped from 9% in Q1 2023 to 50% in the first quarter of this year. As Huawei continues to focus on supply chain matters, market conditions could become more favorable for it in the time ahead.

Apple iOS on the other hand dropped by 4% in the Q1 2024 Chinese smartphone OS market. “One man’s loss is another man’s gain” and so is the situation with Huawei, which has now started pacing ahead in the OS race.

Huawei appears at the first spot in the Chinese smartphone market within a week of Nova 12 series sales. This time, consumers seemed more interested in the newly launched smartphone lineup than the flagship Mate 60 series.

A Weibo blogger has recently shared the estimation of the Chinese smartphone market sales in the first week of 2024. Gladly, Huawei was standing at the top with 19.20 percent market share and pushed Apple to the third position with 16.40%.

The second place is secured by Vivo with 16.70% whereas, Honor is at the fourth spot followed by Xiaomi, OPPO, and other smartphone vendors. It is worth mentioning that Huawei made this achievement with the help of the Nova 12 series sales in the Chinese smartphone market.

Notably, the estimation is quite accurate with the previous revelations that said the Huawei Nova 12 series is selling well in the home ground, bringing the company to a favorable spot in the market.

Huawei Nova 12 sales Chinese smartphone market

Accordingly, the Huawei Mate 60 series is still carrying the ‘out of stock’ tag. However, the new Nova 12 series left no stone unturned to draw customers’ attention with its enriched features and high-end capabilities.

Earlier, a tipster noted that Huawei is gradually boosting the shipment of the Mate 60 series and the device would be available for purchase before the New Year. Though the overall volume increase would take some time to reach up to the mark.

But it looks like the absence of the Mate 60 lineup from the native market for a while won’t affect the sales revenue of the company. Thanks to the Nova 12 series equipped with the Kirin 5G chipsets and amazing functions.

Huawei Nova 12 series:

The three most important aspects that make the Nova 12 lineup a dynamic product are: eye-catching design aesthetics, Kirin chips, and features like dual front-facing camera and satellite connectivity.

Besides, the 6.76-inch OLED panel aims to provide a better visual experience and touch feedback to users. Ahead, the device packs a 4600mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.

Huawei is constantly making new achievements in the smartphone business and the foldable section is no exception to this theory. A big credit for this success goes to the Mate X5 foldable smartphone which has been a huge consumer demand.

Apart from Huawei, other brands like Honor, Samsung, OPPO, and Vivo made their name in the top five positions. The Magic 6 series developer ranked second with 15.54% share whereas, Samsung is on the third spot with 15.23%.
