HarmonyOS operating system is continuously increasing partnerships in many devices and technologies and the latest addition to this membership campaign now added Bluetooth BLE 5.0 SoC chip. This chip could be applied in smart bands, smart tags, smartwatches, smart homes, and IoT devices.

OpenAtom Foundation, the keeper and management organization of open source HarmonyOS, OpenHarmony, announced support for Bluetooth BLE 5.0 chip CST92F30 developed by ChipSea technology.

According to the certification information, the ChipSea Bluetooth BLE 5.0 CST92F30 chip has received OpenHarmony 3.0.1 LTS evaluation. It means that the chipset is now capable of supporting the entire HarmonyOS ecosystem and its devices.

Chipsea CST92F30 is an integrated, ultra-low power consumption BLE5.0 SoC chip that has obtained BQB certification from SIG (Bluetooth Technology Alliance) and is developed for the Internet of Things (IoT) market.

BLE 5.0 increases the transmission distance by 4 times, the transmission speed by 2 times, and the broadcast data transmission volume by 8 times on the basis of the low power consumption characteristics of the previous generation of Bluetooth 4.2, achieving longer distance, faster speed, and higher.

The wireless transmission of data capacity has become the most suitable communication technology application for the development of the Internet of Things.

The CST92F30 is based on the BLE 5.0 protocol stack. The maximum Bluetooth receiver (Rx) sensitivity can reach-97dbm at BLE 1Mbps. The maximum transmits power (Tx) can reach 10dbm, which can maintain super reliable signal stability in harsh communication environments.

Looking at the transmission speed, the fastest can reach 2Mbps, and it supports the expansion of long-packet communication to meet the high-efficiency connection of long-distance range.

The chipset information reveals that the CST92F30 is based on the ARM Cortex-M0 core. It supports up to 48Mhz operating frequency, built-in 512KB Flash, 138KB SRAM, integrated 2 x UART, 2 x SPI, 1 x I2C, 6 x PWM, 6 x 12-bit ADC, 4 x DMA.

The rich peripherals of four GPIOs can meet the operating temperature of industrial grade -40 degrees celsius to 105 degrees Celsius.

Google has recently confirmed that Android 13 is nearing the date of launch. After getting fruitful results from four beta rollouts, the company is finally rubbing its hands to introduce the stable Android 13 with advanced features, and one of them will be the Bluetooth LE Audio.

The US manufacturer has already initiated the standard Bluetooth LE Audio feature with one of the Android 13 beta packages. However, at that moment, the respective feature was at the initial stage. But we can assume that the feature is all set and is well-finalized to land on the consumer devices with the official Android 13 release.

Bluetooth LE Audio Feature

Let me inform you that Bluetooth LE Audio is not just one feature, but a bundle of several implements. As for implementation, this function comprises better power efficiency, and finer audio quality. Moreover, it is capable to connect multiple devices with a single audio source.

Apart from these segments, the most significant change is the effectiveness. The mentioned feature uses the LC3 codec layout that enhances the way audio reaches the device. It makes the delivery of the audio much easier and smoother in comparison to previous Bluetooth features.

Android 13 Bluetooth LE Audio

On the flip side, there is one more Bluetooth LE Audio feature, known as Bluetooth SIG Auracast. Eventually, this tool permits multiple users to hear the same audio file in real-time with different devices. Further, it works according to the suitability of how users connect to a Wi-Fi network.

As mentioned in the above section, the feature was already present in the beta firmware of Android 13. But with the official launch that might take place somewhere in September this year, the company will bring on the Bluetooth LE Audio feature to more devices. Alongside, users will find numerous enhancements in the user interface and privacy section of the devices.
